Despite the small group, it has been a good round, with 75% of all possible matches played.

Thank you all for supporting the league. We are, as ever, very grateful for the hard work you put in scheduling your matches and for your efforts on court. Our next task is to renew our efforts to grow the league! The more players, the more interesting and well balanced the matches should be. If you can help spread the word we would be very grateful - and if you have any ideas about how we might be able to attract new players, do let us know!

The Boscawen Park Tennis League is part of a growing network of local tennis league, and although it is one of the smaller leagues, it is very important to the Local League concept. We strongly believe friendly, competitive tennis on public courts isn't just for the big urban centres... it is something that passionate tennis players can make happen anywhere!

The next round starts soon on Monday November 21 and runs until January 29.

GROUP ONE

Winner: Julian Roberts

In his first Boscawen Park appearance, Julian takes the crown in round 3, after winning both of his matches. He had to work particularly hard against James, who took him to three sets, but in the end this was enough to come out on top. James edged past Matthew in the battle for second place, while Matthew recorded a win of his own over Helen. Hopefully the next round will be more densely populated, and if we could ask you to spread the word, that would be great! Well done again to Julian, a great start to his Boscawen Tennis League career!

The winner will be receiving his £20 prize and certificate and we do hope to welcome you all back next time.
