Reveal CommentJames White bt Millie Mitchell-Pointer (Mar 19) 6-0, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Not as one sided as the score might suggest, we had some good rallies throughout and a couple of close games that went to deuce. Thanks for the game and good luck with your remaining matches!"  -- James
Reveal CommentBaris Ali Kibar bt Millie Mitchell-Pointer (Mar 19) 6-0, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "A lovely young lady to play a fun enjoyable match against. In the 1st I thought Millie was either still under the effect of a lot of Heineken beer where she did her late shift at, or was actually hiding/not showing of her tennis skills for later, which was the case in the 2nd set when she woke up, became sober and started showing off her true crafts, hence she got 2 games deservedly :-)) Looking forward to play again. Thanks for the match."  -- Baris Ali
Reveal CommentBaris Ali Kibar bt James White (Mar 17) 7-5, 7-6 (8-6)

Player Comments:

  • "We gave it our best in some awful windy and rainy conditions and called a stop to things when the hailstones started. Thanks for travelling over, hopefully we get a chance to reschedule this and finish our match. "  -- James
  • "The weather was kinder to us this time around and in better conditions we had a much more enjoyable match with lots of close games leaving us both pretty exhausted by the end! Baris played the big points well and managed to come out on top, thanks for the match and I look forward to us hopefully meeting again in the next round of the league."  -- James
  • "Very competitive intens close match with James who played brilliantly it could have gone either way. Already looking forward to play again. Thanks for the match." -- Baris Ali Kibar
Reveal CommentJames Kapetanos bt Millie Mitchell-Pointer (Mar 16) 6-1, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Closer match than the score suggests- more games went to deuce than not and Millie won the stand out net volley tally of the match. I won with mixing up serve and slice and drop shots and finding the base line well. Such a lovely day to play."  -- James
Reveal CommentJames White bt Matt Sims (Mar 9) 6-2, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Another fun match in thankfully much better conditions than the last time we played! We had a lot of long rallies and many of the games went to deuce. Thanks for the match and good luck with the rest of your matches."  -- James
Reveal CommentMatt Sims bt James Kapetanos (Mar 6) 6-4, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Beautiful day and a good workout thanks to Jim’s short, well placed returns. Thank you Jim!"  -- Matt
Reveal CommentDavid SLATTERY bt Matt Sims (Mar 4) 6-0, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "A great fun game, with a deceptively tricky wind, initially causing a few double faults by both players. The score didn't really do justice to Matt, with some excellent exchanges and rallies - he has a stylish forehand. There were quite a few deuce games but I managed to win those. It was great to meet Matt, and I hope we play again in the next round. "  -- David
Reveal CommentDavid SLATTERY bt James Kapetanos (Mar 2) 4-0, 4-1

Player Comments:

  • "Somehow we avoided the rain today. Any later and we'd have got drenched and probably given up. I enjoyed playing Jim, and chatting about life etc! He told me he'd move me around and he was right, playing some effective drop shots and winners. I played steadily enough to prevail. Enjoy the rest of your matches Jim and thank you for getting this organised in the first place. "  -- David
David SLATTERY bt Lee Gibson (Mar 2) Walkover
Reveal CommentDavid SLATTERY bt James White (Feb 27) 6-4, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "A very enjoyable match played under lights at The Green. First set was keenly contested, especially game 10, with so many deuces we were worried we were going to run out of coins for the floodlights. James got a bit tired in the second set, but each game was still tight, despite the eventual scoreline. There were some fantastic rallies in this match - thanks for the game James. "  -- David
Reveal CommentBaris Ali Kibar bt Alan Brown (Feb 27) 6-3, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "I was very impressed with Alan's athleticism and court coverage, if it wasn't down to my killer drop shots and aggressive attacking volleys I felt this match would have lasted forever as Alan was running after every single ball and returning it back to my court..so I needed to work around finishing the point quicker. In general I felt it was enjoyable. Thanks for the match and I hope we meet again on the tennis court."  -- Baris Ali
Reveal CommentDavid SLATTERY bt Baris Ali Kibar (Feb 25) 6-1, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "A very competitive game against a strong player. I returned everything in the first set and volleyed well. In the second set Baris was much more consistent and put me under more pressure, and I started to make errors. The set could have gone either way. Great to meet you Baris and I know we will have some excellent matches in the future. Please note everyone that there seems to be a problem with the key code entry on courts 5 and 6 so I have emailed Hastings Council."  -- David
Reveal CommentDavid SLATTERY bt Alan Brown (Feb 24) 6-1, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "A very enjoyable match. Alan didn't quite get going in the first set, but the 2nd set was nip and tuck. I got really lucky with a net-cord to go 5-3, which was crucial. I rate myself as pretty good chasing down lost causes, but Alan chases everything down too, which made for some exhausting rallies. Looking forward to the next round v Alan. Thank you for the match and for being so flexible with the timings. "  -- David
Reveal CommentAlan Brown bt James White (Feb 22) 4-1, 4-0

Player Comments:

  • "We decided to play the short version due to atrocious weather. We played a third set for fun which James won quite easily, so it really was much closer then the score suggests."  -- Alan
Reveal CommentJames White bt James Kapetanos (Feb 20) 6-2, 6-1
