Player Comments:

  • "Fun match at Barton with George who served well and was painting the baseline with his forehands early on! Enjoyed the pint afterwards too"  -- David
Reveal CommentLevi Salt bt THOMAS WILLIAMS (Mar 13) 6-3, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Great to meet Thomas and we had a great match. Thomas was serving some great first serve aces and my returns off the first serve often went wild. Fortunately I was also hitting some nice serves at times and we were both putting a real fight to hold our serves with a couple of long deuces. Thomas attacked more in the second set which I think worked well for him, fortunately I was able to fire a few whippy forehand to keep him moving. Managed to sneak in a couple of underarm serves as usual but I think only one landed in. Look forward to our next game!"  -- Levi
Reveal CommentTHOMAS WILLIAMS bt Conor Vasina (Mar 11) 2-6, 6-0, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "It was good to meet conor and get a few sets before the end of the league. Conors deadly left handed forehand and a close final set made for an interesting match."  -- THOMAS
Reveal CommentConor Vasina bt George Warburton (Mar 9) 6-3, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Great game! Momentum kept switching and easily could have gone either way. Some challenging rallies when my serves finally got over the net. Some great slices from George, looking forward to a rematch!"  -- Conor
Reveal CommentLevi Salt bt George Warburton (Mar 6) 6-0, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Good to see George again and test the courts at Barton. George was making some nice serves and had the pleasure of an extremely long first service game Deuce. I was able to find some angles in the match and after a few terrible drop shots managed a few winners with these too. Towards the end of the match I felt George stopped holding back wirh his forehand and was hitting more winners by playing less cautiously. Looking forward to some 5 aside soon, UTT! "  -- Levi
Reveal CommentConor Vasina bt Navneet Sumal (Mar 3) 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-1)

Player Comments:

  • "Great game with Nav! Started off chilly and misty but turned into blue skies and sunshine. Long game with some brilliant serves from Nav and some challenging and fun points. Very tight game as the score shows. Special mention to the potential spotting of Wayne Rooney walking in the park and a pigeon crapping on me mid point (which probably gave me the luck I needed to squeeze the win) Great match, great lad, looking forward to a rematch!"  -- Conor
Reveal CommentDavid Rule bt Ana Claudia Pagett (Mar 3) 6-0, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Nice to meet Ana and we got the best of the weather! Ana's serving was very consistent and we had some good rallies. Thanks for the game"  -- David
Reveal CommentScott Caddick bt THOMAS WILLIAMS (Feb 29) 6-3, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "Lung buster held up by the lights! Tbc"  -- Scott
  • "Got to enter this early so I don't balls the score up...again. "  -- Scott
Reveal CommentDavid Rule bt Conor Vasina (Feb 26) 6-2, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Great to see Conor and Hannah! Cold evening but a really good match. Conor started very strongly, keeping me pinned back to the baseline and finishing points at the net with skillful touch. Good fun and long rallies throughout. Cheers Conor!"  -- David
Reveal CommentScott Caddick bt Ana Claudia Pagett (Feb 25) 6-0, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Nice to meet Ana and Daniel on a Sunday winters morning. Enjoyed the game and the natter afterwards. Here's to twins :-)"  -- Scott
  • "I enjoyed how I played today despite losing. A few mistakes in my serving. A few outs. I asked my opponent once about if my ball was in baseline but he said was out. I always says fault when ball is out or if it is in the wrong area while serving. I am the only women I the league but I like playing singles more than doubles as I run more and I take my own decisions how to play." -- Ana Claudia
Reveal CommentDavid Rule bt THOMAS WILLIAMS (Feb 24) 6-1, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Enjoyed meeting Tom and a really fun match. Probably fortunate to play Tom in his first league match as he's clearly a good player (and runner!). It will take the legs a while to recover from the practice set which included what felt like the world's longest game of deuces"  -- David
Reveal CommentScott Caddick bt Conor Vasina (Feb 22) 6-0, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Finally the weather allowed us a game. Cracking chap with a phenomenal moustache! Enjoyed the match and the extra set afterwards. "  -- Scott
Reveal CommentDavid Rule bt Scott Caddick (Feb 20) 6-2, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Great match with Scott starting each set more strongly than me so it was a battle to claw back in both. A couple of Federer one-handed backhand winners from Scott would have made the highlights reel and we had fun in a practice set after the match too. Cheers Scott!"  -- David
Reveal CommentLevi Salt bt Conor Vasina (Feb 20) 6-3, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Great match on a windy afternoon at Beacon Park. Conor came out the gates all guns blazing, hitting some big winners down the line and putting away volleys at the net. Fortunately I managed to find a rhythm and play better on the defence when Conor was attacking. Special mention to the underarm ace match point after missing a couple of earlier attempts! "  -- Levi
Reveal CommentNavneet Sumal bt Ana Claudia Pagett (Feb 18) 6-0, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "There was heavy rain overnight and only stopped a couple of hours before we were due to play, so we were lucky to get the match started. Beacon park courts showed impressive drainage, so conditions weren’t at all bad to play. This was my second time playing Ana and I must say she has shown impressive improvement in her play since, often catching me out with her half volleys from the baseline and very accurate lobs. Lovely playing with you Ana and I’m looking forward to playing you again to see further improvement!"  -- Navneet
Reveal CommentDavid Rule bt Levi Salt (Feb 12) 7-5, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Great battle as always with Levi! The first set could have gone either way after Levi charged back from 1-3, showing consistently lovely touch at the net to add to his usual strong groundstrokes. The match probably hinged on the first set, with shorter points as we both tired in the second."  -- David
Reveal CommentDavid Rule bt Navneet Sumal (Feb 11) 6-1, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Lovely to meet Nav and an enjoyable match. There were several close games, particularly early on as Nav hit a few unplayable drop shots (appreciated by the Beacon Park crowd!) and some nice wide ace serves. Cheers Nav"  -- David
Reveal CommentLevi Salt bt Scott Caddick (Feb 9) 1-6, 6-3, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "It seemed like roles reversed this time and I had a slow start whilst Scott was not missing a shot, painting the lines of beacon parks with every shot he took! After a post set break and blaming it all on the racket of course I decided to stop being a grumpy sod and get on with it. Fortunately I managed to find some rhythm. At quarter to 9 we decided to carry on playing knowing we wouldn't get to finish and had to halt at 3 - 0 Deuce. To be continued! "  -- Levi
Reveal CommentScott Caddick bt Navneet Sumal (Feb 4) 4-6, 6-0, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "What a ding-dong. Match swayed like the trees. Tough conditions, very blustery but a cracking run out with a cracking chap"  -- Scott
