Player Comments:

  • "Enthralling Match! The score line does not reflect the close battles in some of the games, with fascinating rallies, and unbelievable court coverage on both ends. Matthew is an amazing competitor, and a consummate gentleman. Wishing you all the best with your remaining matches, and a lovely summer."  -- Jesuseun

Player Comments:

  • "Great to play Matthew again. Despite changeable weather and having to switch courts due a to a broken net mid-game this was an enjoyable match up. The first set could have gone either way and the second was closer than the scoreline suggests - both still dusting off the rust! Good luck with the rest for the league, Matthew."  -- Matt

Player Comments:

  • "Fiercely competed contest! This match could have gone either way, save for the fact that I got out to an early start in the final set, and just kept my nose ahead. On this occasion, Matt and I were evenly matched, which made for an engaging battle. I think we brought the drama of a Nadal/Djokovic epic to Court 5 of Greenhead Park. Looking forward to many more battles with Matt in the future. All the best for the rest of this round."  -- Jesuseun

Match of the Group:

Reveal CommentJesuseun Jaiyesimi bt Peter Davis (Apr 17) 6-1, 3-6, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "Enthralling Duel. A great start by John to take the first set, but Peter began weaving his magic, and sublimely claimed the second. The third set was a seesaw scenario: John raced off to a 3-0 lead, Peter than ran off 3 consecutive games to level, a tussle ensued that saw John serving for the match at 5-4. Two unforced errors gave Peter a lifeline, but John managed to break back and then hang on, to win the final game of the match. In the end, nice this went to 3 sets, as we got over 2 hours worth of quality tennis! Looking forward to playing Peter again in the future. All the best for the rest of this round."  -- Jesuseun
