- "played on hard court after previous match when Stefano experienced the Catford bounce on the grass courts. First set I raced to 5-1 lead but Stefano came back to 4-5 and back on serve but I broke to take it. Second set Stefano broke to be 2-1 but couldn't hold after and I went on a run to 5-2. he then held and this time I served the match out at the first opportunity. Serve was key in the match as a first serve mean being ahead in the point but second serves meant that you were on the defensive. Finally won the league after 5 attempts... " -- Julian
Player Comments:
- "For sure closer than the score, most deuce games going my way, good fair match" -- Carsten
Player Comments:
- "Windy conditions at the start which gradually improved during the match. Julian seemed below his standards while I played a good match throughout. Danke! " -- Stefano
Player Comments:
- "Great game that was very verytight. In the opening set Stefano's consistency and passing shots had an answer to everything. Fortunately, my serve came back in the second which helped and a couple of key points went my way. In the third, we were both tiring, but a couple of big serves at key times helped get me over the line." -- David
Player Comments:
- "At 30-40 0-5 0-6 down Tom started what could have been a dramatic come back and had several points for 3-5. The British 1980s woman tennis player Jo Durie did win from this score in a WTA match so it can be done! Good to meet a new player and sure it will be closer next time. " -- Julian

Player Comments:
- "Started on grass and finished at 11pm in the pub with a few beers and chicken wings! " -- Julian
Player Comments:
- "played on grass at 10am so was a bit of dew on it. Jo broke me in first game then had points for 4-1 but I held then broke back and then got the crucial brake at 6-5. Second set the balls were slower and I was managing to return more and also serve better. I went up 3-0 and managed to hold on for the rest of the set. Previous times we played matches have been 3 set and over 2 hours so nice to be able to have a quick pint after! " -- Julian
Player Comments:
- "Tight match played over two days due to weather conditions. The big points made the difference. A number of good rallies on display. Danke Carsten" -- Stefano
Player Comments:
- "Tough match against the big serving Carsten. He can hit a 100+ mph flat serve or a nasty kicker. Only 3 breaks in the whole match and it came down to a few close games in second set. Carsten saved 2 match points at 5-2 down serving to stay in the match and then had 15-40 with me serving at 5-3. I managed to somehow hold it together and get over the line. This was an action replay of the last time we played." -- Julian
Player Comments:
- "Played on grass in the expectation that rain would come at anytime. A few specs here and there but the heavens didn't open until 6pm so we had nothing to worry about. David got off to a slow start and the first set went to me fairly quickly. Second set David rallied and blasted through his first two service games without losing a point. Key moment came at 1-2 with me serving, I saved two break points then managed to break to be 3-2 and then stayed consistent and close the match out. We then had time to play a practice set which David won 6-4 playing some really good grass court tennis. " -- Julian

- "Great conditions in Sydenham Wells this evening. Tight first set largely going against serve, used most of the court in some long rallies. Rus hit some cracking winners on both sides, meanwhile I had some success at the net. I raced to a 5-0 lead in the second and Rus then fought back. Enjoyable match. Look forward to the next one Rus!" -- Adam

- "Lovely evening for tennis at Sydenham Wells park, conditions were perfect. I failed to serve out the first at 5-4 up 40-0 up, and Raf fought back. Managed to collect myself in the 2nd set and get a bit of rhythm in the serve and with some drop shots, the momentum carried me through the third. Thanks Raf, well played and until next time. " -- Adam

- "Dry, sunny and windy. Had some great rallies and enjoyed the match. Paul played really solid in the second set and didn’t give me a look in. Didn’t have enough time to play out the 3rd, so we opted for the TB. Thanks for the game Paul. " -- Adam

Hugh Macnicol bt Karol Walentynowicz (Jul 20) 6-4, 6-7 (7-9), [10-8]Player Comments:
- "This was a tough match played in ridiculously hot conditions. At 2-2 in the first set I had to try and adapt my game given the heat and somehow took the next four games. The second set looked to be going in a very different direction and Rus ran off to a 3-0 lead and was looking good for 4-0. I was really worried, since the sun seemed to have taken all my strength, but somehow I hung in there and took that game to take it to 3-1. I won the next three games too, to take a 4-3 lead. I had a decent chance for 5-3 but blew it and Rus took it to 4-4. From there a few unforced errors from Rus enabled me to get over the line. An enjoyable match played in a good spirit and featuring some great rallies. Thanks Rus." -- Raf
Player Comments:
- "Another tactical battle with Raf... I tried to play patient, cool-headed tennis but also attacked the net whenever the opportunities came up. Was pretty sure I was gonna lose at 4-5, 0-30 in the second set but Raf had an unsually loose came and let me back in. And after 2 hours of tennis with loads of long, intriguing and varied points I managed to finally get the win. Thanks Raf for a good afternoon in blistering sunshine! " -- Paul

The first set a completely misleading scoreline with every game going to deuce and some gains many many deuces, some perseverance and some luck saw me win the key points resulting in 6-0. The story continued into the second set getting all the way up to 5-0 before Patrick won a hard fought first game and the come back was in full swing all the way upto 5-4. My serve got me out of trouble on many occasions, as Robbie was ruthless in targeting my backhand and very agressive coming to the net. Luckily I found my slice reliable to stay in many tough points. Good fun, and some great rallies. Cheers. " -- Macalister

It clearly took it out of me as Jasmin steamrollered me in the second! Third was wide open, swapping breaks throughout, I don't think I held serve until the final game! Some great net play too; Jasmin's drop shot - lob combo worked alsmost every time! Great game. Cheers." -- Macalister
