FREE TENNIS BALLS
Every player who plays 3 matches by the mid-point of any Round can claim a FREE tube of tennis balls! Plus, there are great offers in our shop.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Players are organised into groups of 6 to 8 players of a similar standard
- It is a mixed sex, singles league
- Groups are put together by standard and there can be any combination of men and women in a group
- Contact details are emailed and posted to each player's account page the day before the Round begins
- Players arrange their own matches, book courts and share costs
- You can play on any court that suits both players
THE LEAGUE IS:
- For anyone over the age of 18
- For beginners as well as advanced players
KEY POINTS:
- There are various scoring formats you can use for your match
- Contact details are emailed and posted to each player's account page the day before the Round begins
- Players are placed in groups according to their ITF World Tennis Number
- Each player attempts to play each of the other players in their group once during the Round
- A point is awarded for each set won
- If you play 3 matches before the mid-point of a Round you receive 2 bonus points and a bonus prize
- The winner of the group is the player with the most points at the end of the Round
- The winner of the group wins a voucher for £20 to be spent in the Local Tennis League online shop

New players will need to create an account with us and include their LTA Advantage Number before joining a Round. Once you’ve signed up, and for returning players, you can join the next Round here.

- "A pleasure to meet and play Michael this morning. Michael comfortably won the first set playing some great and consistent tennis. The second set was very close with some long rallies but I managed to close it out in the end. I pulled ahead early in the third set but my serve let me down and Michael played really to draw level and then take the lead. Michael was very unlucky to double fault at match point as his serving had been good all match. Thankfully I managed to take the set to a tie break which like the rest of the match was very close. I missed two opportunities on my serve to win the match but eventually managed to win the next point on Michael’s serve and take the win. I fortunately played well in the 1st set to take it comfortably. 2nd set was different with the first 5 games incredibly hard fought and of a higher quality and all those 5 games could have gone either way with lots of deuces. - "This match took place on the 2nd anniversary of Kieran starting playing tennis and it was the 3rd time we have played each other and Kieran is definitely improving each time. Kieran hit some powerful groundstrokes but fortunately I was able to win through greater consistency. Kieran changed his serving style late on and got some joy with some strong serves and I have no doubt Kieran will have improved again by the next time we play" -- Joseph

Both of us struggled to see the exhibition park lines so had to guess how hard to hit our shots throughout the match! - "A warm Sunday morning match! Start of game echoed a professional match with 2 holds of serve each, with Jonathan winning his first 7 points on serve. I got a crucial break at 3-2 and the set followed. Similar start to second set, but a break at 2-1 was crucial. Some good serves and forehand saw me home. Some excellent rallies and quite a few points when Jonathan well in control of points but couldn't quite capitalise. As always, look forward to our next meeting " -- Michael

- "Fun competitive game at exhibition park in warm conditions, I started off stronger, just hitting a few less errors in the first set and managed to take an early lead although the games were a lot closer than the scores suggests, second set Rosie found another level when 5-1 down brought it back to 5-5 with some excellent winners, I just managed to find a late break and see the game out, Rosie has a solid all round game and it was a thoroughly enjoyable match, good luck in the rest of your matches Rosie " -- Patrick

- "As ever an enjoyable game with Chris. Nice long rallies and I had to hit some of my best shots to win them. Pivotal moment was when i was leading 40 0 at 3-1. Chris then fired in a couple of aces (the only ones of match) and got to game point, but I recovered and a 4-1 lead proved decisive. A quicker second set, but frustratingly for Chris I managed to win most of games which were evenly poised at 30-30. Good luck in your next matches! " -- Michael

- "A good match with many long competitive games. I felt on the back foot for much of it, starting out at 0-2. I managed to save two set points at 4-5 and kept with it to take the set through to 7-5. More long games with many deuces continued into the second set, but I managed to convert a decent number for 6-2. It’s always good to play against Peter and today was no exception. Never have I been made to play so many volleys in a single rally! " -- Chris

- "Bit of an epic today at Bohemians in perfect conditions, Peter was more consistent in the 1st set and hit some great winners to take a 1-0 lead, set 2 again was very close all the way through both of us holding serve until the last game I managed to find a late break, set 3 I found a little more consistency however the score line doesn’t reflect how tough the games were, almost every game went to Duce 3 or 4 times, all round great game that lasted over 2 and a half hours with some good tennis played from both, good luck in the rest of the games Peter and look forward to playing again " -- Patrick

Paddy started the better, racing to a 2-0 lead, but I recovered to win the next 5 games with improved consistency and sneaking a couple of deuce games, eventually winning the 1st set. Similar story in the 2nd set with some good rallies throughout. Paddy has a solid game but maybe just lacked a bit of consistency due to not playing for a couple of years. - "It is a bit of a cliche on this site to say the score does not reflect the game but this was absolutely true in this match which was much much closer than the score suggests .There were lots of good rallies and some great points and virtually every game in the first set went to deuce which I was lucky enough to win . The pattern continued in the second set and ultimately the match in large part came down to me serving fewer double faults and winning the deuce games . On another day the outcome could have been very different. Always a pleasure to play Kieran and good luck with your other matches " -- Peter
