The courts in Battersea Park were kept busy in this spring round with over 150 matches played across the nine groups. It was great to see many competitive contests on the scoreboard and some close races for the number one spots too. Thanks for taking part in a good spirit and we hope to see you all again next time!

Group Summary:

A very competitive group one with numerous three set thrillers on the scoreboard and some tight tussles for positions. James M overcame all the challenges put in front of him to finish with a near full house of wins and leave us in no doubt as to who's the new champ. Omar drew his match with James M and thanks to four further victories, including one over runner up rival Brian, he takes home the silver. Well played everyone.

Group Summary:

Nearly half of the matches played went the distance in this evenly matched group, with Benoit v Andy and Andy v Mark perhaps the pick of the bunch. The three A's; Andy, Alvaro and Alex all finished with four wins under their belts to give themselves a chance of the prize. Crucially Andy also perfected his scheduling skills and these two additional bonus points see him climb into the lead. Alvaro lost out to Alex in their head to head but the point he picked up for winning a set in this epic encounter secures him second spot.

Group Summary:

Oleg played every match and earned his bonus points to leave nothing to chance in his quest for the prize. Group Summary:

Daniel was the dominant force in group four, finishing with a 100% winning record from his six matches to deservedly take pole position, though he did have to dig deep to stay undefeated. Credit to Fred and Edzard who both took a set off the new champ in a couple of "long and intense" matches. Group five went right to the wire with Aleksandr, Christos and Rohan all notching up four wins and bonus points to put themselves in contention for the crown. Now Christos finishes with the satisfaction of being the only unbeaten player, and this included wins over both title rivals, but this was only enough for the silver this time. Aleksandr lost out to Christos in their marathon "3 hour" head to head, however the set he won in this encounter gave him the extra point he needed to edge into top spot. Well played all.

Benedict may have been defeated by Marcello in his first match of the round but he bounced back in the best possible way, beating his next four opponents to surge into the number one spot. Group Summary:

Claire beat Gianluca in a "very tight" first match, however the tables were turned at the end of the round as Gianluca won his next five matches and earned bonus points to pip Claire to top spot - well played both. Hats off to Ramon for making into court for every match too and also giving the new champ a run for his money in a thrilling three setter.
