Vertical Tabs

This is how it works:

  • Players are organised into groups of up to 8 people of a similar standard
  • Contact details are emailed
  • Players arrange their own matches
  • It is a mixed sex, singles league, so men and women play each other
  • You can play on any court that suits both players

The league is:

  • For everybody!
  • We welcome beginners as well as advanced players.
  • Don't worry that you won't be good enough - playing matches is the best way to improve, and we use an online questionnaire to assess people's ability so you play only people of a roughly similar level
  • Affiliated to the LTA For adults aged 18 years and above

Key points

  • Matches are best of three sets; if a set reaches 6 games all it is decided by a tiebreak
  • The evening before the round starts you will receive an email with all the contact details of the players in your group
  • Players are placed in groups according to past performance in the league and, for new players, their Player Standard Questionnaire
  • Each player attempts to play each of the other player on their group once during the round
  • If you complete three matches before the midpoint of a round you receive 2 bonus points and a bonus prize (either a pair of Local Tennis Leagues dampeners, or a tube of tennis balls).
  • The winner of the group is the player with the most points at the end of the round
  • The winner of the group wins a certificate and tennis prizes
  • Where possible, winners of groups are promoted to the group above for the next round.

Getting started

New players will need to complete the player questionnaire before they can join a round. Once you’ve signed up, and for returning players you can join any of the upcoming rounds above.

For everything you need to know before you get started see the FAQs and review the Rules and Regulations, which all players agree to adhere to when playing in the leagues.

If there is anything else you need help with get in contact with Nigel, Sally and the team who will be happy to help!

Timur Shakirov

After not playing tennis for over 24 years it has been most refreshing to play in the Bexley Parks Tennis League against Brian, Joe, Paul, Eamonn, and Cvetan. I believe this is a fantastic way to get back into tennis. Well done to Bexley  Parks Tennis League for organising this

Fred North

All of my matches were losses but most enjoyable, with all players friendly and fair. Look forward to the next round

Fred North

It was a most enjoyable round, not just because the results went my way, but everyone in the league cooperated fully in arranging the matches and all the matches were played in an excellent spirit

Reveal CommentFelix Watkins bt Jamie Price (Apr 7) 6-1, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Jamie made a decent start and the first few games were quite closely contested. Felix then started to find his range and a few errors crept in from Jamie. Some fun rallies though."  -- Felix
Reveal CommentDavid Williams bt Nathan Burchell (Apr 1) 6-3, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "A strange match. Unusually for me I really struggled for consistency at the start, although Nathan started well. If he had converted game points I would have been four love down. However the score was 2-2 and from then on I managed to improve my serve and cut out the errors to take an element of control for the reminder of the match."  -- David
Reveal CommentPatrick McGuinness bt Jamie Price (Mar 31) 6-0, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Wet and slippery conditions helped me more than Jamie, good to get the game played this morning"  -- Patrick
Nathan Burchell bt Jamie Price (Mar 25) 6-1, 6-0
Reveal CommentFelix Watkins bt Patrick McGuinness (Mar 23) 6-3, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "A match littered with errors - Patrick started better and was more consistent. Felix improved after a score dispute had been resolved but the inconsistencies remained in to the second set with many dropped service games. An enjoyable game though nonetheless. "  -- Felix
Reveal CommentDavid Williams bt Felix Watkins (Mar 20) 6-2, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Very competitive match played in difficult windy conditions. Felix saved 3 match points at 5-3 but managed to break serve to secure the win."  -- David
Reveal CommentFelix Watkins bt Nathan Burchell (Mar 11) 4-6, 6-3, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "An error strewn match with Felix starting slowly and Nathan missing some big shots during the second half of the match. Evenly contested and one or two good rallies."  -- Felix
David Williams bt Jamie Price (Mar 11) 6-0, 6-1
Reveal CommentDavid Williams bt Patrick McGuinness (Mar 9) 6-0, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "It was good to get the latest round up and running, albeit at the third time of asking! Patrick was understandably rusty having not played a singles for six months. As a result I raced through the first set. Second set was more competitive and I won some close deuce games to complete the victory. Thanks for the game Patrick and good luck with your other matches."  -- David

Jason Greenwood bt Ifreke Udofia (Apr 7) 6-4, 6-3
Reveal CommentRoy Dinnis bt Kate Northwood (Apr 5) 7-5, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "This was a closely contested match with the lead changing throughout the match as we took it in turn to master one another's service games. Very little to choose between us with Kate's heavy backhand shots always a threat. "  -- Roy
Reveal CommentRoy Dinnis bt IFREKE UDOFIA (Mar 14) 6-2, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Spring had truly sprung for our match in Danson Park where, on a mild and sunny day, we enjoyed a match where just a couple of service games eventually made the difference. Ifreke delivered some fine forehand winners but I somehow ground out victory in the end. "  -- Roy
