I’d set myself to play a shot down the line which had worked before. On this occasion the ball sat up and I missed. This gave Peter the boost he needed and he went on a run to win the second set 5-7. The third set was tuff with both of us starting to tire and feel the heat. I was 5-3 up with 3 match points. Peter dug deep and managed to save them all before pulling it back to 5-5. After taking an early lead in the first set Steve pulled it back to 4-3. I managed to get the decisive break and went on to take the set 6-3. I had to dig deep in the second set as there were a few games that I was 0-40 down, but was able to pull it back and take the game which lead to me eventually taking the set 6-1. On another day Steve would have won those games and the set would have looked very different. Thanks for a great game."  -- Chris

Player Comments:

  • "A very competitive match. Pak didn’t start well which allowed me to take a 5-0 lead in the first set. Pak managed to find his rythme and was able to pull back the next 3 games but I just held on to take the set 6-3. The momentum continued with Pak and he took a 0-3 lead in the second set. This time I had to dig deep and was able to bring it back to 4-4. I held my serve to take a 5-4 lead and on Pak’s serve he really went for it but I held on to take the match. On another day the 6 games Pak won would have earned him a set. Thanks for a great game. Chris"  -- Chris
