Collapse AllBromley Singles - Round 33 | Thursday 1 November 2018 to Wednesday 9 January 2019 (Midpoint: Wednesday 5 December 2018)

An excellent winter round in Bromley with more than three quarters of all matches played, despite the busy festive period, and many three set thrillers on the scoreboard too. Thanks for your efforts in continuing to make this league a success and we hope to see you next time for more of the same throughout 2019!

Group Summary:

There were no commentaries accompanying the scores in group one so the tennis was left to do the talking. Laurence proved to be the dominant force, beating everyone he played to give himself an excellent chance of the prize. Jean-Michel combined scheduling prowess with four victories to join Laurence on ten points at the top. It therefore all comes down to their head to head, the last match of the round, and Laurence stepped it up a gear to emerge with a tight straight sets victory from this encounter to clinch the gold. Kudos to Rushabh too who finished only one point behind the top two in third.

Group Summary:

Groups don't come much better than this! Nearly every match was played, all bonus prizes were earned and the number of three set thrillers hit doubles figures - great effort everyone. It was a very close call for the prize too with only one point separating first and third place. Boye and Rajiv finished with five wins under their belts to top the wins chart, however only one champion can be crowned. Crucially Boye picked up points in both of his defeats, including an epic encounter with title rival Rajiv, to boost his tally and sneak into the number one spot. Rajiv pips Richard to the silver thanks to his victory in their exhausting head to head.
