Collapse AllBromley Singles - Round 37 | Thursday 19 September 2019 to Wednesday 13 November 2019 (Midpoint: Wednesday 16 October 2019)

Another great round in Bromley full of excellent tennis and friendly rivalries in every group (except for group 10 which unfortunately never really got going). This brought the overall stats down considerably but 145 matches were played in this round nonetheless. That's a great result, well done!

Group Summary:

Pawel just managed to squeak ahead of defending champ by one point and move from third place last time to the top spot this time. Congratulations! Runner up Albert however, gets the bragging rights, having won their head to head. Had a few more matches been played in this group, who knows what might have happened, but we look forward to seeing how the many familiar rivalries work out next time!

Group Summary:

A really busy group with a very high percentage of matches played - well done all. That often means whoever wins the group needs to pick up extra points in matches lost, if possible, and so it was here. Alan beat Marc to the top spot by the most slender of margins! They both won five matches and got their bonus points but Alan picked up two points for sets won in two matches he lost, whereas Marc played and lost one match, and got one point for a set won. But Marc has the consolation of beating Alan in "a really close, competitive match all the way through the 3 sets, with some long rallies and lots of deuces." Congratulations to them both!

Though I won 5 games in a row to take the first set, I knew it was far from over as I had been in the same position in both my previous matches and lost! It was nearly deja vu as I went 5-3 up in the second, but John really stepped up to pull back and go 6-5 up.
