Player Comments:

  • "Another tiring match against The Wall as always. Because The Wall defends incredibly well, I had to step outside my comfort zone and attack some shots at the net which thankfully worked well for me, particularly in the 1st set. The Wall was incredibly unlucky not to get a game in the 2nd set. I think there were 4 games in that set where The Wall had game points, so the 2nd set could have easily gone the other way! Thanks for travelling to my home tennis club again and good luck in your last match. Now I will sleep for a couple of days to recover from all those long rallies we had! Zzzzz zzzzz zzzzz "  -- Owen
Reveal CommentDarren Bellamy bt Davide Respini (Sep 19) 6-4, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "The score in no way reflects what happened in the match. It was super tough. Davide is not only a great guy but also has amazing speed and agility. Everything comes back. The match lasted over 2hrs - long long rallies and Deuces most games. Finally I have met someone with a game even more defensive than my own. My only regret is that my friend Rhodri isn't playing this round. He and Davide would get on like a house on fire. Thanks Davide and I wish you well in your remaining matches."  -- Darren
Reveal CommentDarren Bellamy bt Kevin Birt (Sep 18) 6-4, 7-6 (7-4)

Player Comments:

  • "Always a tough game against Kevin. Kevins strength is that he reads the game so well. It seemed like he knew where I was going to hit the next ball before I did. We both struggled on serve but had several great rallies - I was grateful to close out the match on a tie-break as the third set could have gone either way... Thanks for the game and all the best."  -- Darren
Reveal CommentAndrea Rossi bt Darren Bellamy (Sep 15) 4-6, 6-0, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Amazing and challenging match, I had a lot of fun!"  -- Andrea
Reveal CommentOwen Morris bt Andrea Rossi (Sep 11) 6-0, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "After having a 100-shot rally during our warm up I knew it was going to be an exhausting match……. The first game of the match (which was on my serve) was a bit of a marathon. We both had game points, but it was me who was able to edge it. From that moment, I think the momentum shifted slightly in my favour. However, there were many close games that could have gone either way and the score certainly does not reflect the match. Andrea is very consistent, very quick and hit some sublime shots that were simply too good, so it was of no surprise there were many close games. The match was played in great spirit. Was great to meet you Andrea and I hope we have more matches together. All the best."  -- Owen
Reveal CommentDavide Respini bt Kevin Birt (Sep 9) 2-6, 6-3, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Second time I have played Kevin and what to say, it is always a great pleasure. The game ended, as usual against Kevin, at third set and it was a tough, fun and competitive one. Good luck for the rest of the league and looking forward to play against you again soon "  -- Davide
Reveal CommentOwen Morris bt Davide Respini (Sep 4) 6-1, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Getting the ball passed Davide is almost impossible. Incredible fitness as he never seemed to get tired, despite making him run side to side as he chases pretty much every ball down. It was great to witness! He has not been playing tennis long and already he has huge potential. Thanks for the game Davide, it was lovely meeting you."  -- Owen
Reveal CommentAndrea Rossi bt Barnaby ROSS (Sep 2) 6-2, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "The score doesn't reflect how balanced the game was, I had a lot of fun and I am looking forward to playing with Barnaby again :) It's good to be back!"  -- Andrea

Player Comments:

  • "John is very friendly guy, I really enjoyed playing him today. The weather was also perfect. Despitte the score we had very long and tough rallies. John has a solid baseline game and his best shots are the return. He also gave me hard time with his very effective drop shots. "  -- Maurizio

Player Comments:

  • "The score tells how tight this game was. It was an exhausting, but entertaining, 3-hour-long game with Patrick. His defensive backhand slice and superb passing shots made me very difficult to manage the game. Thanks, Patrick! Good luck with your rest of games. "  -- Jung-Woo

Reveal CommentStuart McLeod bt Michael Coombes (Sep 18) 6-0, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Perfect conditions for tennis at the Heath, and a thoroughly enjoyable knockabout with Michael. He'll be disappointed with the number of games he won with plenty of winning forehand shots hitting the lines, definitely his signature shot. Fortunately for myself I got the better of the deuce games. On a court near us was Kevin and Darren serving up a group one special, and I couldn't believe the shot making on display. Thanks for the game Michael, look forward to playing you again."  -- Stuart

Player Comments:

  • "After a nightmare start to the league it was nice to record a first win. Good to play with you again Michael. His forehand is his weapon and always enjoyable playing with him. All the best."  -- Patrick
Reveal CommentJon Tann bt Gergo Szudar (Sep 11) 1-6, 7-5, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "I think the better player probably lost, Gergo class player. Unfortunately he had blisters in the final set but massive respect he didn’t complain at all and powered through to the end. "  -- Jon
Reveal CommentJohn Karseras bt Patrick Dickinson (Sep 10) 6-3, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Great to play Patrick again On a lovely morning for tennis at Heath Park. The match started in a similar vein to our previous match which was very close all the way through. However in the second set it was a bit one-sided until Patrick came back from 5:1 down after spurring himself on to successfully defend matchpoint. I think fatigue after just five hours sleep probably got the better of Patrick in the end. Good luck for the rest of your games Pat. "  -- John
