- "Very close and enjoyable match, including one never ending deuce game! Jake has a great serve and hit some great aces. Enjoyed my first ever match in Rhiwbina and we got lucky with great conditions under the lights. Thanks Jake for hosting and good luck for your remaining matches!" -- Jonathan
Player Comments:
- "An enjoyable and close match played in good spirits. Good to meet you Alex and thanks for hosting in Penarth - look forward to playing again soon ! :)" -- Jonathan
Player Comments:
- "TBC with Gareth to serve. But what a great game so far. I’ve spent the last hour mainly defending, gareth has one of the best forehands in the league, a great serve and great controlled play. I’ve spent the last hour with heart rate near max, just chasing his shots down which consistently land deep at the baseline. Can’t wait to finish this one! But very happy to still be contending, this could easily have been 6-0 to Gareth in the first!" -- Kevin
- "With the score 5-7 & 1-5. Me and Gareth booked an hour to conclude the game. Neither of us expected it not to be complete in an hour!. I certainly didn't expect Gareth to win the first 4 games to bring it to 5-5 which sent my nerves tingling! Luckily, I won the next 2 to take the set. Then with Gareth poised for victory and serving for the win at 5-3, the bloody lights went out again! So, for the first time ever, we will be returning for a 3rd set and a 3rd time. T.b.c….. But I'm comfortable enough to say Gareth deserves to win this, he has played the better tennis by far! Let's hope it's not a tiebreak!!" -- Kevin
Player Comments:
- "A very enjoyable match, Alex was such a friendly guy and welcoming host at his home club in Penarth. His serve is very good and often caught me off guard as it’s super hard to read. He’s a brilliant player and I know he’ll do well in the rest of his league matches! Thanks so much Alex and lovely to have met you! " -- Gareth
Player Comments:
- "A really enjoyable and friendly game that lasted 2.5hrs. It surprised me to learn that Jon hadn't been playing long, he has a superb 1st serve, nice forehand and really good measured control, a very competent baseline player that can certainly shift around the court! I trailed most of the 1st set and struggled with my serve but nip and tuck led to me winning the tiebreak. The 2nd set felt close but Jon win it comfortably, with some great shots including some nice passing shots & lobs & very few errors. The 3rd set made this into Jons longest game in the leagues and arguably he made a few more errors in this set. One thing is certain I had to play near my best to beat him today. Really enjoyed this one. Gg and good luck in the rest." -- Kevin
Player Comments:
- "Really nice to meet Alex and a good game. Alex has a really good serve which caught me off guard as he aced me in the first point of the game. For the next 6 games it consisted of me simply defending his serve and working hard for the points just to have it undone as I relentlessly double-faulted which took us to 3-3. I reduced my errors and managed to win the 1st. Then with a bit of momentum and confidence (and less double faults), I managed to win the 2nd game 6-1. Although I still had to simply defend Alex’s serve and get a rally going. GG, thanks for hosting." -- Kevin

- "A good game with Matt again. He came back in the second set but I was just able to hang onto my lead and win." -- Anne
Player Comments:
- "Thanks to Tyrell for a great game; wet conditions, but lots of running and long rallies. " -- Huw
Player Comments:
- "This game definitely ebbed and flowed between the two of us. We started off mostly alternating games but I won the first set fairly comfortably. In the second I found myself suddenly 4:0 down before I managed to win a game and Tyrell won the set easily. The third set I went up 5: 0 but Tyrell fought back to bring us to 5:4. At 30: 40 up in match point, the floodlights went out and we had to wait a while for them to come back on. I think this must have worked to my advantage as I won the next point. A closely fought match with probably the most deuces I've ever had." -- Anne
Player Comments:
- "It was lovely to meet and play Amritpal, and the match was much closer than the scoreline suggests. Many of the games went to Deuce (and stayed there a while!) but luckily I just had the edge in the long run to win more games." -- George
Player Comments:
- "A great game with Huw. We played on artificial grass which was a new surface for Huw. I think this probably helped me get to a 5:2 lead in the first set. Huw adapted his game at that point and managed to claw the score back to 5:4. I managed to hold on to the next game to take the set 6:4. In the second we again got to 5:2 but this time I held on to take the set 6:2." -- Anne
Player Comments:
- "This is the third time I'veplayed Matt and it was another very close and enjoyable match with the advantage swinging one way then the other. Matt's a great player who chases every ball he can and never gives up. Looking forward to playing again next year, when, hopefully, I can bring our match scores to a level 2-2 :)" -- George
Player Comments:
- "Thanks to George for a good match, with lots of deuce games and a tight second set. " -- Huw
Player Comments:
- "A beautiful day to play tennis. Amritpal played some good points and I found I had to concentrate to play a sensible tactical game against her. Thanks Amritpal for a lovely morning." -- Anne
Player Comments:
- "A fun match played in good spirits. Some very competitive points (and games). Good luck Matt with your remaining league matches." -- Tyrell

Player Comments:
- "We have previously played these two and we both thought that both Michael and Kate were much improved players this time round. We had some good rallies, in initially wet conditions on the Heath. Both Michael and Kate are good baseline players and with time both will surely improve quickly. In the end we managed to overcome, however I look forward to seeing how they progress in the future. All the best for the remainder of the round. " -- Rhodri
Player Comments:
- "Both Nelly and Michelina are beginner players while Cathy and myself have played for years. We played at Heath Park in good weather conditions. Nelly is very enthusiastic about her tennis and both seemed to enjoy getting stuck into the match. With time both will improve. We managed to overcome in the end. Many thanks both. " -- Rhodri
Player Comments:
- "A really enjoyable game with Nelly and Michelina despite us accidentally having booked an outdoor court on a very wet day! We played indoors instead (across 3 courts - we had to take what we could get!), and we had a lot of fun rallies. Look forward to playing you both again soon. Mike & Kate x" -- Michael
