Too many mistakes in the first set, I spent a lot of energy to win the second set. Reveal CommentIvan Fabijanic bt Peter Jones (Jul 13) 4-6, 7-5, [10-8]

Player Comments:

  • "It took a while to get a first break against Peter, which only happened late in the 2nd set. He also started strong iin the match tie-break (played instead of the 3rd set due to a time constraint) and took early lead 4:1 and 5:2, but I managed to turn it around and close it with a narrow win. Some really good rallies, a lot of running and a very close encounter overall. Thanks Peter!"  -- Ivan
Reveal CommentIvan Fabijanic bt Sarosh Daruwala (Jul 11) 6-1, 4-6, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "A nice early sunny Sunday morning match. Sarosh, coming back to tennis after a long break, picked up his shot precision in the 2nd set and hit some nice unreturnable winners. However I managed to get a couple of early breaks in the 3rd and finish the match in under 2 hours, for a change."  -- Ivan

Player Comments:

  • "Harjinder coped much better with the heat and the direct sunshine which made the clay courts in Eastcote feel like the south of Spain. Harjinder's steady and constant rythm of returning every ball was the main factor of taking this match into 3 sets over mor ethan 2 hours of play. Thanks for makig me work really, really hard for this one."  -- Ivan
Reveal CommentIvan Fabijanic bt Neil Kirkham (Jun 27) 6-3, 2-6, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • " The 3rd set was more of the same, 1+ hour of long ralies. Neil is very good at returning balls, no matter where they land in his part of the court, at what speed, angle or bounce - they keep coming back. I managed to get through this one, but it was nice to play it over 2 days :-)" -- Ivan
Reveal CommentIvan Fabijanic bt Gianfranco Celani (Jun 25) 6-3, 6-7 (1-7), 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "What a start of the new league round. Gianfranco too an early lead 3:0, but I managed to turn it around (not that easy). The 2nd set went to a tie-break where Gianfranco hit some beautiful winners. I finally managed to get a lead in the 2nd set and close the match with a nice cross court return. 2 hours of pure enjoyment. Thanks Gianfranco! "  -- Ivan
