- "Good, competitive match against Sam today. He battled back from 4-0 down in the first set to level at 4-4 and I was hanging on at that point as a lot of his big shots were landing. Luckily I just about did enough in the next two games to take the set but it could’ve gone either way. In the second set I stayed fairly solid and again was lucky that more of Sam’s aggressive shots weren’t landing. Great game though and Sam will cause problems for anyone! Well played ?" -- Robin

- "Great to get the chance to play Bob again at Hamptons. I knew I was in trouble in the 1st set as he was firing winners everywhere and had me running all over the place. Had to try something different in the 2nd and I raced to a 3-0 lead with 2 breaks. Bob kept coming back at me as we kept exchanging breaks but finally was able to see out the set. We played a Champions tiebreak and it was nip and tuck, until I squandered two match points at 9-7. At 9-9 I thought I was done until Bob fired his shot wide and I was able to get over the line. After losing the first set 6-2 and finding myself 0-40 down in the first game I told myself Lee was going to beat me again as he managed to return everything and served well. Luckily my serve and volley and net play got me through the second set with some decent groundstrokes to go with it. I grew in confidence and went 5-2 up in the third before failing to serve it out twice. A solid head (which is unlike me!!) got me over the line just about. - "Really nice to meet Tom this morning at The Hamptons. We had great weather for a Sunday mornings tennis although by about half way it was up to just over 25° so I did have to stop and visit the refreshment hut to get a few bottles of water. The match was good though and Tom's a good player which meant we did have a few long rallies and some good points. The let cord was working over time in my favour this morning which even I started to feel guilty about as I must have been in double digits by the end of the match, Tom got a few but only on his serve. - "Great to play Sam again at Hamptons. We’ve had a few battles and this was no different in really humid conditions. Was able to quickly get to a 4-0 lead but Sam pegged me all the way back to 4-5. Fortunately I was able to hang on to get the break and win the 1st set. I got off to another fast start in the 2nd to get two breaks for 4-1, Sam broke me back but I was able to break again to serve out the match.
