Oliver, perhaps inspired by his success in his last league outing, showed great commitment to get all of his matches set up and played, and this paid off as he notched up five wins to comfortably finish in first place. Now both Vincent and Matthew defeated Oliver, so what might have happened had they played a few more matches? As it is Vincent takes second ahead of the chasing pack after the deduction of walkover wins and bonus points.

Reveal CommentAlex Beaumont bt Sid Nyein (Apr 24) 5-7, 6-1, 6-2Player Comments:
- "I was pleased with this result as Sid is a very good player, with a big serve and some really strong ground-strokes. This was largely defense vs attack with defense winning out, with Sid deservedly winning the 1st set, and me pulling through in the next 2. I learnt to deal with his serve and keep getting the ball back in the rallies, which I guess made a big difference. There were some long deuce games which I ended up winning, so the result could have been different. Notably we had a very long deuce game with me serving the match out at 5-2 - and Sid had a number of break points. It would have made a nervy ending for me had he won that game!" -- Alex
Player Comments:
- "The score looks one-sided but it should have been closer. Elias probably wasn't 100% at his best and did a few unforced errors so I got the win here, but Elias is clearly a very good player...so look forward to the re-match!" -- Alex

A shame we didn't see more matches played, but at least the round came to an exciting conclusion with Michael and Will neck and neck in the race for top spot. With their head to head unfinished we need to do some calculations....and thanks to fewer sets conceded it is Michael that adds another title to his ever growing collection.

Player Comments:
- "A lovely sunny day for tennis (maybe too sunny), and a close game, with David coming back strong in the second set. The tie-breaker really could have gone either way. We had a lot to deal with in this match - a strong sun in our eyes at one end, a stray netball being chased by a netball player, a wayward football, and a meandering squirrel on the court. Despite this we managed to have some really good rallies with a fair amount of slice from us both. Thanks for the game David." -- Richard
Player Comments:
- "A good game in lovely morning sunshine, with enough clouds in the sky not to impair our service games. Some very close games and quite a few long baseline rallies that we both enjoyed. Thanks for the game Toby." -- Richard
Player Comments:
- "A very evenly contested match. Toby has a killer cross court forehand and I found out very early that I couldn't give him an inch! We had some really long rallies with both of us running for every drop shot and lob. I was lucky on the evening but have no doubt that it would be a different story another time. A really enjoyable match, thanks Toby!" -- Nicky

- "An epic and competitive game played over two dates. Terry was 4-0 down in the first set and came back really strong to take the first set to a tiebreaker which I luckily managed to win. Second set was even throughout, with some really good rallies. Again the set went to a tiebreaker, with Terry winning to even up the match. The third set was played the following week, with again some good rallies and good weather at Brockwell Park. I just managed to be more consistent on the day. Always a pleasure to play Terry, cheers mate. " -- Richard

Player Comments:
- "We had a great match that isn't reflected by the scoreline. Some great rallies and Toby really frustrated me with the depth of his groundstrokes and the low bounce of his serve. Fortunately my serve was working well for the first time ever and allowed me to hold serve relatively often... when I didn't serve it right to his forehand." -- David
Player Comments:
- "An even match with some good rallies. Neither of us could hold serve in the first set but I just managed to sneak through in both sets. Thanks for the game Nicky." -- Richard
Player Comments:
- "Really fun match. Nicky was a little rusty but has a tricky playing style. It was played in great spirit - we had a good laugh throughout no doubt aided by some rare sunshine" -- David
Player Comments:
- "A great match which despite the scoreline produced some fantastic little battles. During one of these Toby pulled off one of the best shots I have seen in these leagues. After an initial flurry of shots I tried to kill the encounter with a cross court volley. Toby managed to not only deflect the shot while going in the opposite direction , but killed it stone dead on my side. Seriously, it was like watching Crouching Tiger , Hidden Dragon stuff ....! My Kung - fu was stronger on the night but hats off to Toby. Nice. " -- Terry

- "Revellers flocked to Wandsworth Common looking to make the most of their bank holiday weekend by catching some high class tennis. The thousands who turned up were not disappointed as winners rained down on court more regularly than the Southern Trains that sped past on the adjacent railway line. Having already played in on session that day James was having to dig deep into his seemingly endless supply of energy, grit and determination, just like a Duracell Bunny, and pulled off some high class tennis. The crowd roared for more and they were treated to a high class second set of aces and a game that went to what felt like a 16th Deuce. It showed such quality that manufacturers have designed T-shirts to be worn by the adoring fans, £15RRP!" -- Edward

- "Brixton's busy and bustling High Street could be heard in the background for this much anticipated encounter. The steel drums playing out a melody only matched by the pattern of the players rhythmic shots on the court. Victor has a forehand that is as graceful as a gazelle galloping across the plains, however, the top-spin that he exacts on the ball can, just like the gazelle, kick you in the face if you're not careful. The first set went deep with both players drawing on reserves that they didn't know they had. Luckily my mid-winter training holiday at altitude seems to have worked. The fans provided a rowdy backdrop to this encounter and seemed to be enjoying their bank-holiday weekend by drinking in the first class tennis on show." -- Edward

- "A slippy Kennington Park was the scene for this all star match that drew the crowds of South London to cheer on their idols. In the build up to the game major news outlets were highlighting Andy's impressive array of strokes that see him as one of the most electrifying players of the modern game. Drawing crowds come easy to this man! The spits of rain, ever-present during a British Tennising summer left the court a bit spicy in the words of Greg Rusedski who was covering the match for EuroSport TV. No matter, these two players delved deep into their arsenal to pull out some truly remarkable shots to entertain the partisan crowd. At one point Andy switched hands to hit an inch perfect left-handed winner down the line. Remarkable scenes!" -- Edward

- "With it being a Thursday night and sports fans across London knowing that it was only Europa League night, Clapham Common was the place to watch high octane and pulsating sport. Tickets for this game were sold out in minutes prompting the organisers to lay on a Fans' Park and boy did they turn up in their thousands! Such excitement and hysteria around this Group 12 match has led to SKY and BT fighting it out to secure the rights to broadcast future matches. More on this news to follow. As for the fans who watched they were treated to a sumptuous display of this fine sport with shots as crisp as the first strawberries of the summer! An encore was demanded and was duly obliged as the players put on a tennising exhibition. Bravissimo!" -- Edward
Player Comments:
- "There was a carnival atmosphere at Clapham Common tonight. This may have been due to the fact that a carnival was taking place next to the tennis court, however, the tennis fans of South London still turned out in droves to witness a compelling and masterful display of tennis. Facing Matt's serve is like trying to hold onto a mechanical bull, with such pace and precision on the ball it gets you in a bit of a helter-skelter and the first set became a roller-coaster. The fans were left screaming for more and the second set, just like a go on the dodgems, duly delivered. Winners rained down on a more regular basis than the revolution of a carousel and the fans were left awestruck by the class on show. Great game, well played." -- Edward

Great stuff from this group to get lots of matches played and bonus points earned. A special mention to George for getting all of his matches in. Frontrunner Chris proved to be unstoppable, powering past his opponents to end the round with a win from each of his five encounters. Michael was made to work hard on the court and deserves great credit for digging deep to emerge victorious from four very close contests to finish in second.

Quinn was great in volleying my lobs and had some lethal aces. Many thanks for the match again and all the best with your other matches in the league!" -- Gokhan
