- "Very nice match with a lot of fun rallies!" -- Salvatore
Player Comments:
- "It took 4 attempts to finish this match. 2 rained off, and then 2 play days. A very even game between 2nd & 3rd in the league. In the end Stephens just snuck it, but not without a fight from Colas. A fantastic match. " -- Bertie

Reveal CommentBertie Stephens bt Richard Papworth-Smith (Jan 22) 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3)Player Comments:
- "What will you have, sir? Ice-Rink or Sun-Blindness? KEMP throwing up the elements again, depending on which side you're at! Given the conditions a very fun and even game, ending in an exciting tie break! " -- Bertie
Player Comments:
- "Quite intense match with fast paced rallies and some incredible winners on both sides. I'm sure we would have both enjoyed a deciding set that nearly happened, but Mark managed to turn the second set around from 2-5 to win 7-5. Look forward to play again!" -- Mark
Player Comments:
- "A one sided match, but not in the way you think! Mark, recovering from illness graciously agreed to play on a brisk Wednesday morning. In addition to the recovery Mark was also subjected to intense winter sun, whereas Bertie somehow had his sunglasses in his bag! Despite this Mark put up a sterling performance and almost every game went to a long deuce! A great match, with too much sun! " -- Bertie
Player Comments:
- "Good match played on a rather slippery court. Very intense first set, with a marathon 11th game which saw me saving at least 10 break points, hold but then succumbe in the tie-break, with Patrick playing there his best tennis of the night. I managed to return better and be a bit more penetrating with my groundstrokes in the following two sets, eventually sealing the victory." -- Salvatore
Player Comments:
- "Nice match played in damp conditions. The score doesn't really reflect the match as most of the games ended in deuce. Looking forward to a rematch." -- Salvatore
Player Comments:
- "Great match played on slightly wet conditions. Bertie displayed great skill with great dropshots and well placed shot. A fun 2 hours game, in which I managed to emerge victorious with a very aggressive game plan." -- Salvatore
Player Comments:
- "Some good shots and net play from Mark to force a third set from a set and a break down. Very pleasant match. " -- Patrick
Player Comments:
- "Nice match on a crisp but sunny afternoon. Very tight first set, where I had the chance to close the deal on serve but was unable to capitalise due to David's tenacity. The set eventually went to a close tie-break. We exchanged breaks at the beginning of the second set and going on serve until the decisive break at 4-3. Good fun, several intense points and exchanges at the net. Looking forward to a rematch." -- Salvatore
Group Summary:
A particularly competitive group here with many close games across the score board. Round of applause then to Sergio who despite this came top of the group with no less than 6 straight wins! Player Comments:
- "Always a pleasure to play Phil. The glaring low winter sun got the better of both of our games. Look forward to complete this match" -- Kurt
Player Comments:
- "It was the 3rd meeting between Kurt and I, and as usual we had a great time. Long rallies, loads of deuces and big come on! from both sides of the net. I managed to focus and hold serve much more easily in the second set, also cutting down the unforced errors. We both played well. To the next one Kurt ;)" -- Mouche
Player Comments:
- "Very enjoyable match with a lot of back and forth of deuce and advantage. Thanks Preeti for the match!" -- Isaac
Player Comments:
- "Issac was great. The score did not reflect the closeness of the match. So often to deuce and advantage then deuce again. we are planning to play again in the new year as we are well matched. He is alos new to the area and keen to play league friends. Beautiful day, low sun again and sharing hats to minimise glare." -- Phil
Player Comments:
- "Interesting match with some good rallies. Joe has a very unusual game which unsettled me, especially in the 2nd set in which he led 3-0 double break up. Though I stayed focused, determined and managed to force a tiebreak after Joe failed to serve for the set at 6-5. Good play!" -- Mouche
Player Comments:
- "This was a delightful match held in low sun. There was ice on the adjacent court. Preeti was a joy to play and unnecessarily nervous. We played a third set for fun that she won. Looking forward to playing her again. i" -- Phil
Player Comments:
- "Great match with good rallies and nice spirit. Simon led in 5-2 in the first set after dropping the 2 opening games but mouche managed to recover and take the win. Great match, thanks Simon!" -- Mouche

A shame that a few players didn't manage to leave the starting blocks but great work Nikolay, Sarah, Ramon and Julie for getting in the matches between you. Despite Nikolay and Sarah tying on 6 points each, Nikolay's 7-5, 6-3 win over Sarah gives him the lead.
