Player Comments:
- "Excellent match. Outstanding performance Bud." -- Paul
- "Good match with Paul, too many easy mistakes where it mattered but that's the beauty of tennis." -- Mugurel
Player Comments:
- "Was a good game on a nice day for it. We were both struggling a bit today. Had trouble finding that killer blow shot early on so ended up slogging it out in the long rallies. Was quite tough for me. Second set the pressure was off me somewhat so was able to go for the winners more. Well played James you seemed reasonably happy with your game despite the result. And good to see you nearly back to full fitness but still not quite there yet with the shoulder." -- Kenneth
Player Comments:
- "I can't believe we survived a singles match in 25 degree weather! " -- Mugurel
Player Comments:
- "It was very fun playing with Danny, it's been a while since last time we've played. Good luck with the rest of the matches!" -- Mugurel

- "Another one to add to the pantheon of classic matches between me and Kenny. Today was all about the shifts in momentum: I got off to a flying start as I surged to a 5-1 lead in the first set before Kenny hit his groove to win the next five games, saving a couple of set points in the process. The next phase of the match was insane, with an extremely long deuce game followed by a nerve-shredding tie-break. We must have saved about 15 set points between us as we exchanged unbelievable shots and cheap unforced errors in equal helpings. I finally managed to claim the set and then took my foot off the gas somewhat as Kenny swiftly snatched the second . My third set win was slightly anti-climatic, as I think we were both spent after set one. " &n
- "Wow! The first set was truly epic. I saved set point down 1-5. Then after battling back to go ahead 6-5 I had numerous chances (about 10 SPs I reckon) in the next game to win set point as did Danny who got it eventually. And then it was much the same in the tiebreak with Danny getting that one as well. I went full tilt in the second set but by the third set and by that time playing in the searing midday sun, I was running on fumes. Another great match. Happy with the way I battled on but Danny too good and outlasted me in the end. Well played mate." -- Kenneth
Player Comments:
- "Joshua is a bit like the Nick Kyrgios of the Dundee tennis scene: he has the game to beat anyone but is his own worse enemy in match situations. This was my first game in four months so my serve, court awareness, movement and timing were all amiss in the first set. It looked like I was slipping to defeat but managed to find some fight and flow in the second set to claw my way back into it and gain the upper-hand in what turned out to be a gruelling three-hour battle. " -- Daniel
Player Comments:
- "I breezed through the first set and thought it was going to be a straightforward match. I was wrong. Kenny played out of his skin in the second set and could have been 4-1 up. The second set was brutal, he got everything back. Well played." -- Paul
- "Enjoyed playing Paul again even if it nearly broke me both physically and mentally. Soooo tenacious and relentless. Very few errors from Paul. Usually get some dividends attacking his backhand side but can see a huge improvement there. Second serve still a weakness but he was getting a high percentage of first serves so just couldn't get a look in. Steady as a rock today Paul. Well played and managed to keep my cool this time thankfully." -- Kenneth
Player Comments:
- "It was fun playing a match with Joshua, it's been a few years since the last one." -- Mugurel
Player Comments:
- "Pleasure playing with Kenny, even if the courts were a bit slippery. Looks like I'm cursed this round to only get bad weather, but it's just like the good ol' times." -- Mugurel
- "Bud's 1st service game was an exhibition in itself. He hit 3 aces', each in 3 different pinpoint corners of the service box and all hitting halfway up the back fence. I got a mere clip on the other one. Never seen anything like it and never will again. Truly gobsmacked!" -- Kenneth
Player Comments:
- "Josh has played all of his matches left-handed. If he had played with his right hand the scoreline would have been considerably different. Impressive performance with his left hand, though. I kept to my campaign strategy of Euclidian geometry, Newtonian physics and parsimony." -- Paul
Player Comments:
- "Strange match in some ways. First game must have lasted 20mins so was surprising for me to then race ahead to 5-0 40-15 in less time than it took for that 1st game. Was hoping at that stage to finish it quickly as my legs were aching from hillwalking earlier in the week. But Joshua made me work for it, hitting great angled winners to save the bagel and make the scoreline respectable. 2nd set was equally competitive and I finally nailed match point after numerous failed attempts. Thanks again for the game, Joshua. Fun match played in good spirit." -- Kenneth
Player Comments:
- "First match of the campaign and I’m feeling splendid. I’m moving like Federer and hitting like Nadal. Furthermore, I added a bit of Euclidian geometry to my shots and a touch of Newtonian physics to the trajectory of the ball. Moreover, I tried to keep my error count as parsimonious as possible. Hats of to James' indomitability and stoicism. It isn't fun playing with an injury. He did, however, still manage to pull off some exquisite winners." -- Paul
