Reveal CommentCraig Armour bt Jerome O'Meara (Sep 9) 6-4, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "If the forehand slice were a breed of dog it would be a pug, everyone thinks their cute but when you're up close to one they can be rather jarring. Nonetheless, Craig utilised this weapon exceptionally, playing most balls into the service boxes leaving Jerome scrambling to pet the proverbial pugs getting anything on them he could. Jerome saw some success with his serve and by grinding out a few games, but their unlike their rallies, there would be no spin in this tale as Craig took the first set. Jerome came into the second set with a new found confidence. Slice of the pie? I'll have 40, love. He muttered to himself. Jerome showed resolve as he hit cleanly to see early success. However Craigs consistent game triumphed."  -- Jerome

Reveal CommentJerome O'Meara bt David Cook (Sep 1) 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Madness... where does one begin? Scattered showers dazzled the court just before start of play leaving Jerome's acceleration his biggest downfall as he hit the deck on multiple occasions. Nonetheless he pulled through to see out the first set 6-3. After gathering intel on Jerome's game, David bit back with a grinding 6-7 tie break victory showcasing a solid return game and good touch at the net. As the vessels of hydration ran low and the daylight swooned, Jerome managed to pull together some good serves and saw success in a hard fought 6-3 set. Post match on court comments revealed mutual respect between both sides in a thoroughly tough but enjoyable clash!"  -- Jerome
