Player Comments:
- "Beautiful weather this morning for a good match against a great guy. Tosin is a solid player who hit lots of good shots. The first set was very close and I thought we were in for a long match. I was then able to find some winners and first serves in order to win it. Tosin deserved more than one game in the second set. Thanks for the game and I look forward to playing again." -- Richard

Reveal CommentTemitope Aremu bt Eldin Basic (Jul 11) 6-1, 6-1
Player Comments:
- "Temi is certainly best player in the league. I was hoping to win a set maybe but he is just too good. My wrist and both knees being slightly injured did not help but even fully fit I'd struggle to get to that desired set most likely." -- Eldin
Reveal CommentTosin Adenuga bt Allan Macalino (Jul 9) 6-4, 6-0
Player Comments:
- "Allan started like a house on fire - holding his serves with ease and hitting excellent getting strokes, finishing at the net with aplomb He went up 4-1 then I developed some consistency and was able to work points better - the score isn't reflective of the closeness, and the game was played in excellent spirits. Thanks for the game, Allan. " -- Tosin
Reveal CommentRichard Randle bt Ian Emery (Jul 3) 6-1, 6-0
Player Comments:
- "Ian fought hard and chased every ball, as he always does. I was able to hit several winners and played a consistent match. Always a pleasure to play against Ian and we get a lot of steps in over the course of the match. Looking forward our next game." -- Richard
Reveal CommentTom Bird bt Eldin Basic (Jul 3) 7-6 (7-3), 6-0

- "The first set was 7-6 and could have gone either way a real 50/50 set. The second set Eldin’s level dropped and we still had a number of a deuce games, however I was able to take the set 6-0. Enjoyable game in windy conditions. " -- Tom
- "Agreed. And Tom is currently a better player. Sadly I have a few niggles including an uncomfortable wrist injury and pain in both knees and was unable to play full match properly." -- Eldin
Reveal CommentRichard Randle bt Josh Bullivant (Jul 2) 6-4, 6-3
Player Comments:
- "A good match which would've been even better had it not rained for the duration of the first set, leading to a slippery court. Josh is an excellent tennis player and technically one of the better players in the leagues I've played in. He will undoubtedly win a lot of matches and I'm pleased to have played him before he gets more singles practice. The next match we play could have a very different outcome. Thanks for the game, Josh." -- Richard

Player Comments:
- "Windy initially. After 1 set torrential rain for 2 minutes. We just about agreed to continue as others on C1 and C5 also played. Shortly afterwards it turned sunny and good for tennis. Josh is a great guy and with more games will be a contender to win ? the league next time round." -- Eldin
Reveal CommentRichard Randle bt Allan Macalino (Jun 23) 6-0, 6-0
Player Comments:
- " A year ago, I lost to Allan in this league, so I know what a good tennis player he is. A combination of an unknown court, distractions from other courts and a bad knee hindered him today but the scoreline in no way reflects the ability of the two of us. Allan is a quality player with good shots and an excellent understanding of the game - I hope we can play again in the future and have a close match." -- Richard
Reveal CommentEldin Basic bt Richard Randle (Jun 19) 6-4, 6-1
Player Comments:
- "As always very competitive game with Richard but this time I was mentally ready to challenge him. " -- Eldin
Reveal CommentRichard Randle bt Tom Bird (Jun 14) 6-4, 7-5
Player Comments:
- "An almost identical scoreline to our match in the last round but sadly, without the same quality. Tom and I both made more mistakes than usual today and I scraped both sets. Another good workout in perfect conditions on a warm evening even if it wasn't our best match. Looking forward to our next game." -- Richard

Player Comments:
- "This was the second time Oliver and I played against each other. The match was very competitive and pretty much even on this occasion, which could have gone either way. I was able to just stay in each point for a bit longer from 0-5 down in the first set tiebreak to win after a net cord in my favour at set point. Unfortunately, we were not able to complete this match at 5-5 in the second set as Oliver had to retire. Thank you Oliver and looking forward to playing you again at another time. " -- Hong Giap

Reveal CommentJohn Hewett bt Joel Brudenell (Jul 23) 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (10-8)
Player Comments:
- "A great evening match against Joel, went the distance and couldn't have been any closer! Instead of buckling under pressure, both of us upped our game and played better in critical points. In the first 2 sets the scoreline remained pretty tight despite lots of breaks of serve. In the third set Joel got quite a big lead, 4-1, and it looked like he might run away with it, but I managed to turn things around and it ended with a tie break, which was very close, with match points for both players. By the time we finished it was about 9:40pm, getting pretty dark! It was quite fitting that a bat flew overhead immediately after we shook hands. Thanks for the game, look forward to playing again." -- John

Was lovely to meet Kanika, look forward to playing again." -- John

Reveal CommentJohn Hewett bt Ruth Evans (Jul 4) 7-6 (7-5), 5-7, 6-4
Player Comments:
- "Very close marathon match (about 3 hours!) which could have gone either way, shame we couldn't both be winners. Ruth is a tenacious tennis player and doesn't give up on points, and neither do I, which made for some long grinding points, and games which seemed to usually end up going to deuce. Great match, look forward to playing again. " -- John
Reveal CommentRuth Evans bt Luke Vale (Jul 1) 6-2, 6-4

Reveal CommentJohn Hewett bt Jonathan Winspeare (Jun 30) 6-4, 2-6, 6-4
Player Comments:
- "An epic, gruelling, match which went the distance, about 2 1/2 hours long. Each set could have gone either way (except maybe the second one) and there were plenty of breaks of serve and also very long games which kept going to deuce, ad, deuce, ad... Conditions, which started out cool but humid and ended up just plain hot, may have played a factor as we both ended up using up our water reserves by the end, but I had the advantage in that regard, having brought almost 3 litres! Top quality tennis from start to end, look forward to playing again." -- John
Reveal CommentJohn Hewett bt Lana Fedulova (Jun 29) 6-2, 7-5
Player Comments:
- "Conditions were moderately cool but very humid, a little bit of drizzle thankfully didn't come to anything. Once Lana got into her stride, she made the second set rather tricky for me and it could have gone either way. After Lana's serve got broken in the first game, I was feeling quite comfortable, but then she took full advantage of a brief lapse in concentration and went on to win the next 4 games in a row, making it 4-1, with what felt like unstoppable momentum. I managed to turn things around and win the next 4 games but then promptly got broken, making it 5 all, followed by a couple of tight games which went my way on the day. Lots of games went to deuce and lots of great rallies. Thx for the game, look forward to playing again" -- John

Reveal CommentJohn Hewett bt James McEvoy (Jun 27) 6-1, 7-5
Player Comments:
- "Was a pleasure to play against James, on a windy but dry and sunny day. We went on a bit of a tour of the courts, moving 3 times, as we made the most of the slightly better courts being available until people who booked the courts turned up. James played well and was unlucky not to get the second set, which could have gone either way. We had some great rallies, looking forward to playing again." -- John

Reveal CommentJonathan Winspeare bt Joel Brudenell (Jun 25) 4-6, 6-1, 6-2
Player Comments:
- "Great game today with Joel in the some rather wintery conditions at times. Joel made a great start to match taking the first set. The second and third set we're also very close with many deuce games played. I think in the end it came down to who made the least unforced errors. Look forward to playing again." -- Jonathan
Reveal CommentJonathan Winspeare bt James McEvoy (Jun 19) 6-0, 3-6, 6-1
Player Comments:
- "Really good to meat James today. James was tough opponent who caused me lots of problems, particularly in the second set. He has really good technique on his ground strokes and gets a lot of topspin which really pushes you back. I think as James gets more consistent with his serve our matches could go either way. Look forward to playing again." -- Jonathan
