Player Comments:

  • "Really enjoyable game with Chris, much close than the scoreline indicates with quite a few games going to deuce. Chris was a bit inconsistent in the 1st set but picked up his game in the 2nd and put up a good fight. Thankfully I was able to close it out in 2 sets. Great to meet you Chris, wishing you all the best for remaining matches in the league"  -- Siddhartha

Reveal CommentSiddhartha Kunzru bt Adrian Morkis (Apr 11) 6-3, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Nice sunny Sunday morning for our match! Adrian is a fierce competitor who runs down every ball and makes you win the point few times over! Today unfortunately his 1st serve let him down a bit which gave me the chance to attack his 2nd serve and get a few easy games. Thanks for the match Adrian and wishing you all the best for remaining matches in the league."  -- Siddhartha
Reveal CommentChris Sundstrom bt Rodrigo Bustamante (Apr 10) 6-3, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "We started out in the cold and had a sprinkle of drizzle on the way to an enjoyable match... and we warmed up soon enough... we had some great rallys including a few volley fests. Rodrigo played a good game even though he felt he had been a bit rusty. There where a few brilliant rally's where I was beaten by some amazing forehand winners. It was a fun game - thoroughly enjoyable, Thanks to Rodrigo for a great game"  -- Chris
Reveal CommentAdrian Morkis bt Chris Sundstrom (Apr 9) 6-1, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "It was lovely day for tennis after a such long time of waiting to play again. First set i won pretty easily 6-1 but too many errors from both of us. Understandable not playing for a long time had a big influence on our performance. Second set much closer as Chris started playing better with less errors. We had a good chat after the match. Happy to be back playing again in the league. Thanks Chris and good luck in the remaining matches."  -- Adrian

Reveal CommentDavid Bryan bt Loris Boillet (Apr 10) 6-1, 4-6, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "On a cold Saturday morning, we managed to get in a great match to earn us up. After a mammoth first game with tons of deuces, I was able to run away with the first set while Loris found his range and rhythm. The second set was totally different, with Loris hitting heavy spin shots and great serving, he skillfully took the second set. Lucky I started the third quickly and was able to take a quick 3 love lead as the weather started to close in. I then saw the set out for the win. Very enjoyable and good quality match. Merci Loris."  -- David
Reveal CommentDavid Bryan bt Olivia Lewis (Apr 5) 6-4, 5-7, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "After waiting during the day for the snow to go and the temp to great up, Olivia and I had a great game. Very equal and good consistent rallies through out. First set followed serve until late on when I was able to pinch a break and take it to 4. Second set, Olivia broke early and stayed in front most of the set, but I was able to pull it back, only to lose it straight after!!! Third set was much the same, until a rather windy spell throughout Olivia's length out and I was able to win the set with a couple of breaks. Was a really enjoyable first game, then you Olivia. Play again soon!"  -- David

He's a great player and I hope he does well in the rest of his matches!"  -- Alex

Reveal CommentBen Coyle v Ronald Tsawayo (Apr 11) 3-6, 6-6 TBC

Player Comments:

  • "Very dramatic game. Lots of momentum swings. Ronald has a big serve and likes to play at the net. We both had some great drop shot winners and a couple delicious lobs. First set went Ronald’s way 6-3, I managed to pull ahead in the second and got to 5-2, only for Ronald to then pull it back to 6-5. I broke his serve to force a tiebreaker and then more drama as I served for the set at 6-3 only for Ronald to pull it back to 6-6. The grey clouds above had been looking ominous for the previous 15-20 minutes and then lo and behold... it started snowing. So sadly we had to call it off. To be continued..."  -- Ben
Ronald Tsawayo bt Paul Murphy (Apr 11) 3-6, 6-4, 6-1
Reveal CommentSimon Rider bt Michael Millington (Apr 10) 7-6 (7-5), 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Very close game in chilly conditions. Mike plays some scorching forehand drives but was clearly rusty at the start going 4-0 in the first set before roaring back to force a tie break. With first set taking 75 mins tiredness was a factor in the second set. Great advert for local tennis leagues with a close game that is like to play again in a few months. "  -- Simon
Reveal CommentBen Coyle bt Charlotte Howe (Apr 10) 6-3, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Charlotte is a worthy opponent with a consistent serve. She hits a very flat ball that stays low meaning I had to dig everything out from my feet. We were well matched with lots of breaks of serve and one very long deuce (that game lasted a good 15 minutes). Both of us hit some great winners and had a good laugh. Good luck with the rest of your matches Charlotte! "  -- Ben
Ronald Tsawayo bt Charlotte Howe (Apr 8) 6-2, 7-5
Reveal CommentSimon Rider bt Javier Lujambio (Apr 5) 6-1, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Good friendly game to shake the rust off. Little chilly in the wind and the bright sun did play havoc with serving from one end. Both were feeling our way back so moments of quality were rapidly followed by unforced errors and unfortunate too heavy/ too light touches. "  -- Simon
