Phil Coulter

Thank you for organising this league. As someone who has just moved into the area, it gave me an opportunity to get out, play some tennis and meet new people

I had a lovely time playing in round one. And, I would definitely play in round two. Count me in!

Reveal CommentKevin Hall bt Mario Michael (Sep 27) 6-4, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "It was a difficult match to play in strong winds. It was fairy even in the first set that went to 4 all but I managed to get the advantage and win the first set 6-4 The second set was a set of unforced errors on both sides. Mario took the lead to 5-1 but some how I was able improve enough to come back and win the match 7-5. "  -- Kevin
Kevin Hall bt Alessandro Saracino (Sep 22) Walkover
Reveal CommentChristopher Jacovou bt Kevin Hall (Sep 19) 6-3, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "An enjoyable game with Kevin which started with him taking the first break in the first set. However i managed to gain the edge and came back where i twice broke Kevins serve to take a 4-2 lead after some strong points in clinical momments to help me take the first set win 6-3. The second set was a similar story, some long rallies where patience and resilience was the key to help me in this a spirited battle. Kevin remained persistent throughout there were many testing and hard fought rallies, however i once again had the decisiveness in key momments and momentum that took me into the final set, i also execured more winners in my service game in the second set to take it to 6-3. Thanks Kevin and enjoyable game."  -- Christopher
Reveal CommentNicholas Mott bt Christopher Jacovou (Sep 18) 6-3, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Great defence from Christopher throughout both sets, returning a good number of big serves and ground strokes. Much better conditions than last time we played and a really fun hard fought match on both sides. All the best for your other matches, Nick"  -- Nicholas
Reveal CommentDavid McLean bt Kevin Hall (Sep 17) 6-3, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "This is the first time we have played together. The first set started evenly at 2-2 with the games tending to go against the serve. I managed to get a foothold in the set taking a 5-2 lead and winning 6-3. The second set started well for me taking a 3-0 lead and eventually winning 6-1. A good match with some great rallies. Thanks for the game Kevin and a pleasure to meet you; hopefully play again in a future league. Good luck in your remaining matches."  -- David
Reveal CommentDavid McLean bt Christopher Jacovou (Sep 12) 6-2, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "The match was played in ideal conditions. The first set started fairly evenly but I managed to get a lead and saw out the set 6-2. The second set was not as easy as the score would suggest with many deuce games but I managed to hold on to take the advantage in each game. Thanks for the game Chris and good luck in your future matches."  -- David
Reveal CommentDavid McLean bt Nicholas Mott (Sep 8) 6-2, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "The match was played in the blistering heat with just a gentle breeze. I managed to get off to a good start with Nick struggling to find his range with his usual big hitting shots. The second set was a different matter with Nick racing into a 4-1 lead with some great serves and passing shots. I pulled one game back to 2-4 and the seventh game of the set to my mind proved to be a pivotal one. There were a number of deuces but I managed to close it out. From there I managed to hold on to take the set 6-4. A set which clearly could have gone either way. A great match as usual with Nick and good luck with the remainder of your matches."  -- David
Reveal CommentNicholas Mott bt Simon Grant (Sep 6) 7-5, 6-0

Thank you Mario and good luck in your future matches."  -- David
