- "A fantastic match where both sets could have gone either way. There were lots of deuce games and neither player could get a significant lead in either set. Player Comments:
- "A really good match with Jonny. Lots of long deuces. He hit a lot of unplayable winners, punishing pretty much every weak shot I made. But - very unusually - I didn't drop any service games at all and was able to break his serve a few times." -- Tom
Match of the Group:
Reveal CommentTom Le Bas bt Robin Datta (Sep 27) 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 6-3Player Comments:
- "A great match again with Robin. In the last round of games he beat me 7-6, 7-6, and this time he again won the 1st set again in a tie break (this after I was 5-2 up earlier in the set). A lot of errors from both players, though. We both played better through the 2nd set, Robin's 1st serve increasingly effective, while I kept double-faulting. At 4-4 it was finely balanced, but I managed to hold serve (adjusting my ball toss seemed to help) and then took the set 6-4 (Robin saving 2 set points before I FINALLY got a set off him!). The 3rd set was a higher standard, with lots of good serves, hardly any double faults, and strong groundstrokes. It went with serve until I broke at 4-3, then served out for the match. " -- Tom
Player Comments:
- "A thoroughly enjoyable finely balanced match with some great rallies. Thanks Tom! " -- Simon
Group Summary:
It was a successful debut in Enfield Parks for Prakash who won an impressive 7 matches to win the group in style, finishing 4 points clear of runner up Ronnie. Prakash went all round without dropping a set too and in fact there was only one 3 set match all round, Ronnie's comeback win against Hugo with both players "exhausted at the end"... great effort!

Player Comments:
- "It was a very interesting game. Nur has a lack of practice but her traits are there to be a very good opponent if she could keep playing. Tennis isn't only about hitting the ball hard but delicate and finesse could be as good as a powerful shot. Nur has both skills and showed that in the second set. Looking forward to playing again. " -- Ronnie
Player Comments:
- "Nur was a good opponent and just getting back into tennis after 13 years, great to see her enjoying tennis again. Keep the practice going." -- Daniel
Player Comments:
- "Great match against Hugo and level at 4 all in the first set, with both of us loosing our service games up to that point with a lot of deuce, advantage it felt like we had played 2 sets already. Much the the same in the second set as well. Good tennis on a windy day!" -- Daniel
Player Comments:
- "Great to play Dean, more practice and the outcome would have been a lot different. Don’t give up on that slice shot. Look forward to another match sometime." -- Daniel
Player Comments:
- "Played on a good court with Decent lights. Dans was one of the strongest challenges of the group, well demonstrated by a 4-4 score line in the first set. With many games going to deuce and yoyo-Ing several times between van-in and van-out, the set could have been won by any one. Every point had to be hard fought and it took curvy serves, bullet returns, lofty lobs and deft drop shots from us both to win them. I hope I was not the only one to have aching muscles the next day. I am glad I got through all my 2 set matches by the half way stage. " -- Prakash
Player Comments:
- "Second time we have played in the Enfield league and was a great match, from the first game. Ronnie never gives up and it always feels like he hits everything back. Cheers Ronnie, look forward to the next match." -- Daniel
Player Comments:
- "Cracking game with Dan, both gave everything and really good opponent and nice guy too, very glad to have won in two as he'd have won for sure if it went to three! " -- Alexander
Player Comments:
- "Good to have a match with Hugo again. His kick serves and forehand drives were a force to be reckoned with. Hugo’s game improved as the match progressed until the fading light started to play an increasing part in the outcome of the match. The 2 set match concluded just in time as darkness fell. That match was a good challenge for us both." -- Prakash
Player Comments:
- "It was a game dominated by rain, non-bouncing balls and two keen players to complete it no matter what. In a different day, one would think the game could be much more different. Steve had some shots that all I could do just look and enjoy them. I somehow managed to win. Thanks for the game Steve." -- Ronnie
Player Comments:
- "Nip and tuck in the first set with service breaks galore and some good winners peppered throughout the match. The second set was not as easy as the score suggests either. Enjoyed the match. " -- Prakash
Player Comments:
- "Despite the score line Nur can be encouraged by the improvement shown as the games progressed. The hunger to win points is there. Putting it into practice is Nur’s challenge over the matches to come. Thanks Nur. " -- Prakash
Player Comments:
- "Unfortunately, Dean was unable to get into his stride early and soon found himself trying to save the first set. To his relief and delight his fighting spirit brought the second set score line to a respectable 4 games to his 2. It’s a shame that he ran out of games before he could sustain a proper fight back in the second set. " -- Prakash

Reveal CommentRonnie Turus bt Hugo Joyce (Aug 24) 5-7, 6-4, 6-0Player Comments:
- "What a game. It could go either way. I managed to come back. We both were exhausted at the end. It was almost 2 hours with no break. Thanks Hugo for the great game. " -- Ronnie
Player Comments:
- "Ronnie plays some challenging serves and shots that keep you on your toes. It goes to show that tennis is not just about hitting the ball hard, but applying finesse and applying a delicate touch are powerful tools to have in the armoury. I will look forward to the next time we play." -- Prakash
Player Comments:
- "Alexander has a good repertoire of shots. Expect to play a formidable player once his game all comes together. Cheers mate." -- Prakash
