It was great to have 4 groups in this round of Fleet Tennis League and to be able to welcome 6 new players to the league. Well done for dusting off your rackets and hitting the courts again, we're so pleased to see friendly, competitive tennis return to the courts of Fleet! Collectively you played an impressive 80% of all possible matches too so we're looking forward to the next round already!
Group Summary:
Congratulations to Pancha for a successful defense of his Group 1 crown finishing undefeated on 5 match wins, 3 points clear of runner up Richard. Pancha certainly fought for his title surviving concerted challenges from Richard and Andy, both worthy contenders for 'Match of the Group'! There was a 3 set win for Claudio against Andy too while Jack and Paul managed to close out tight matches against Claudio and Harry in 2 sets.

It was a successful Leagues debut for Patrick winning Group 2 at the first attempt, winning 4 matches and finishing one point clear of runner up Stephen. Credit to Stephen for winning their head to head in 2 sets, a "really good match which could have gone either way", but Patrick's bonus points for match scheduling helped him across the finish line! Russell and Jenny had strong rounds too both winning 3 matches, and Jenny did well to beat Stephen in a close 3 setter.

Group Summary:
This was a well contested group with everyone getting all their matches played and lots of match commentaries to fill in the details! Appropriately it was very tight at the top with Mark and Chris both tied on 9 points, however Mark's 3 set win in their head to head propelled him to first place. Chris was on the winning side in his 3 set match against Ben though, a 3+ hours marathon... and a great effort from both! As if that wasn't enough, Ben overcame Tim in another lengthy 3 setter... bravo!

Sadly this group was a bit slow to get going with only group winner Graham earning the midway bonus points and one withdrawal. Graham's 2 wins and a set won in his defeat to Alex was enough to see him finish one point clear of runner up Loris who recorded one more match win, including defeating Graham in their somewhat windy head to head. Loris also overcame windy conditions to win against Alex.
