Player Comments:

  • "Good match played on a great evening for tennis (maybe the sun was a little too intense at times) with some Dec decent rallies. The match really hinged on some important points that luckily went my way "  -- Barnaby
Reveal CommentGamal Haddou bt Calum Johnston (Jun 13) 6-0, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Nice quiet courts up in Bishopbriggs and slightly windy for our game. The scoreline does not reflect a few deuce games and it could have easily been closer. Too many long ball forehand shots cost a number of points however Calum was better at lobs and managed to return some wide shots that I thought would be simply beyond his reach. It was Calum's first match in the league and nice to see a new entrant. Better luck with your other games."  -- Gamal

Player Comments:

  • "We couldn't complete the match initially. In 1.5 hrs the score finished up 3-6, 5-2. David deserved the 1st, was far the better player. I relaxed more in the 2nd, still very close but 5-2 to me We met again today (Sat) and I was pumped up thinking I only need to hold my serve to take the match into a decider... I lost my opening service game (5-3), David then won his serve (5-4), I then lost my serve again (5-5), David then held his serve (5-6) and then I scraped through my 3rd service game of the day to force a tiebreak! I was convinced I was going to lose 5 in a row! Tiebreak 7-3. 3rd set I went 3-0 up, David came back 3-3, here we go again.... I held and then broke. Serving for match at 5-3, David broke again!! Then I broke. EPIC!!! "  -- Chris

Hopefully we’ll get a chance to finish things off in a future round. Enjoy the rest of your games in this very tight group."  -- David
