A good win for group champ Sean with 4 wins from 6 match and who it seems partly has his serve to thank, with it holding up well in a tight match v Laurent. Indeed tight matches were very much typical of this well fought group and with only two players getting their bonus points (first and second placed Sean and Rodney), every match counted!

Aleph beat the champ Aldo in a very tight game but has to settle for second place as Aldo just edged the top spot by one point in a keenly fought group. Well played both. We like the sound of Rebecca's 'arrowing groundstrokes' and Tom and Aleph's baseline rallies, and fourth placed Tom was unlucky not to finish higher after 4 straight wins, but just need to play a few more matches and clock up a few more points!

Some times there is a player who is fast out of the starting gate, gets his or her bonus points and manages to get every match played, sometimes before others have even started. They may lose a match or more on the way, but this kind of player also goes far! This time it was Byron. He was beaten by Nicholas, but Nicholas didn't play any more matches and Bryon played and won five! That is the way to win the group. Many congratulations!

- "A beautiful, crisp, sunny day for tennis. There were some nice shots from both of us but the fact that I had played quite a lot of tennis over the last month and Fiona hadn't made all the difference. Lovely to meet and play with you Fiona, good luck with the rest of your matches! I had played quite alot of tennis over the last month and Fiona hadn't and this showed in the end." -- Dan

- "A very close encounter with Chris in pretty awful, blustery conditions. Not the highest of quality due to the crazy wind but we had some fab rallies at points. Chris' defence and ability to get balls back were excellent and he had a set point 5-4 in the first up but I managed to come through it and nab the set on a tie-break. Would love to play again in better conditions. Thanks Chris!" -- Dan

A tie at the top with Scott and Huxley on 6 points each. Fortunately, they played each other and Scott won the head to head so wins the group. Every match came with a commentary, which is brilliant, but the blustery, windy, slippery and sometimes freezing conditions made many an appearance. Thanks for all the perseverance despite the weather doing its worst.

Playing tennis every day has stood Rad in very good stead here and helped in to victory with just one loss, to Laurent, in a very difficult match. James who loves to come to the net, came second, losing only to Rad, whose ability to hit the lines and lob winners won the day. Emily, who never gives up, surprised Tom with her ability to retrieve would-be winners, Paul and Sally made use of the lob and Tom's powerful serve and clinical overheads put Tom under pressure. Well played all!
