Reveal CommentChi Lok bt Patrick Waddington (May 16) 6-1, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Thanks for travelling over an hour to play at mine I think home advantage counts for at least a few games , Patrick struggled with low bounce on the 3G surface He double faulted a lot in the first set I found the baseline a lot with my forearm as I’m used to playing here I felt my forearm and serve were more reliable than at other venues - in my comfort zone This was one of the most satisfying matches to win as Patrick has a great topspin low looping forearm with which he hit a brace of clean winners in the second set . My defence was good today and I was able to scramble back shots using high lobs to rescue me and I tried to make the older man run a bit ! We did play a 3rd set going for our shots and it was much closer at 6-4 "  -- Chi

Player Comments:

  • "A very chilled out opponent A lot of deuce games in first two sets with James levelling sets with good consistency Shot of the match to James with a fantastic passing shot down the line The sun and pesky kids broke the flow of the match later on My serve improved as match progressed and to close out i needed more than a few longing lobs to keep James at bay I felt my forearm was average and James impressive gets meant it was even for long periods , I did move him around a bit but never quite managed to hit the lines or do any passing shots and my volleys went directly to the opponent An Enjoyable match played in the right spirit in gorgeous weather "  -- Chi
