  • "Great meeting and playing Anthony and Sam, What the scoreline doesn't give you is how much fun everyone had. Refreshing playing against people who enjoy themselves regardless of the score. Some good rallies with some great gets. We had such a great time that we mixed the teams up and had an additional set in the rain. Thanks to you both for the match and best of luck with your remaining matches."  -- Winston

Player Comments:

  • "Credit to everyone for braving the elements and getting through what almost because farsical conditions at Lee Valley. There was wind. There was rain. But thankfully no fire other than behind some of Reg's serves. We will definitely have to play again as I feel there was so much more to come, at least we could have a laugh and no one fell over. So that's a result in itself. Great to meet you guys and let's hope for better conditions next time!"  -- Chris

  • "A really enjoyable game with some excellent rallies played with great sporting spirit. Having fallen a set and 4-1 behind you could have thought the game was over. ollie and Joe rallied back with some really good play and were within a point of going 5-4 up. We managed to pull the score back but kudos to Ollie and Joe for not giving up the ghost. We managed to have a knock after the match which was great. Reveal CommentChris Burlton & David Arnaud bt Oliver Brown & Amy Cooper (Sep 6) 6-1, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "A quality match very much enjoyed by a vocal local, who enthusiastically compared both Amy and David to Simona Halep at various stages (and who could disagree); the rest was unfortunately lost in translation. We're getting in the groove now this being our fourth match as a pair, and both Amy and Olly improved throughout the evening, with some impressive hitting and a closely fought additional set at the end. A pleasure to meet you both and hope you enjoy your remaining matches."  -- Chris
Reveal CommentChris Burlton & David Arnaud bt Sam Nim & George Biggs (Sep 2) 7-5, 7-6 (8-6)

Player Comments:

  • "This was an epic two-hour battle, I am not quite sure how we managed to come out on top after being 3-1 behind (1st set) and 5-1 behind (2nd set), we just tried to keep ourselves in every point for as long as possible. David and Sam did put an end to a few of our long rallies with some sublime winners down the line. And trying to return George's serve was a challenge all in itself, Sam essentially just mopping up anything and everything at the net. A great game of tennis which could have easily gone to three sets. Best of luck with your remaining matches and look forward to our next game whenever that may be!"  -- Chris
