Player Comments:

  • "Great to meet and play Guy and Ali for the first time. A good match with some great rallies and sportsmanship. Ali has a big serve and powerful groundstrokes and Guy is quick around the court. Together, they put us on the back foot a few times having been in defensive positions. Really great meeting Guy and Ali and best of luck in your remaining matches"  -- Winston

Player Comments:

  • "Wow! What an amazing 2nd match, even better than the 1st match. Fireworks night produced some sparkling tennis from both teams. Sam and George getting off to a quick start in the first set going up 4-1 before being reeled back in to 4-4 and then taking the set 6-4. In the second again they were up this time 3-1 but somehow we managed to take it 6-4. The final set from Zak and myself going from 2-1 to 4-1 and then being reeled back to 4-3. At 5-3 we were 0-40 down came back to have multiple match points and just about scraped through. If I spoke about the amazing rallies and praise from both teams then I would run out of space. Suffice to say that the fireworks happened on court 1 at Stratford Park on fireworks night."  -- Winston
Reveal CommentWinston Balfourth & Zak Nikolov bt Ivan Georgiev & Keng Goh (Oct 29) 6-2, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "A first playing both Ivan and Keng in doubles. We got into our groove very quickly which helped us relax. Some great rallies and of course sportsmanship. The score doesn't always reflect the match and this was proven in the set we played after. Looking forward to another match again guys."  -- Winston
