"I got my free tennis balls this morning  - thanks very much, a very impressive fast and efficient  'service' (unlike mine)!"

Karen Slater

"Just wanted to write and say a big thank you for all your work in organising and administering the Northampton Parks Tennis League.  I have thoroughly enjoyed playing in this round, meeting some lovely opponents and developing my game too I hope.  Thank you very much, I look forward to the next round,"

Simon Matthews

"It was my first time entering a local tennis league and it was brilliant! I had some tough matches which were thoroughly enjoyable and met a few people who I'll hopefully play again many more times. I look forward to playing another set of people in group 1 next time.",

Stephen Lewins

"I have enjoyed both rounds that I've played in. Easy to arrange matches, competitive yet friendly.",

Neil Fox

Reveal CommentWayne Savage bt Stuart Scott-Evans (Jul 27) 6-1, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Another very enjoyable match against Stuart. A downpour just before the match started, made for quite a slippy surface and both players were sliding at times which did make it a bit unsure of our footing. But we both agreed to give it a go and had a good few games that went to deuces. Thanks again for a good game. "  -- Wayne
Reveal CommentKieran Taylor bt Wayne Savage (Jul 23) 6-4, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Very close first set with some deuces that never seemed to end. Wayne played a very strong net game throughout and winning a lot of points with some great drop shots. I was able to grab the first set and then found my consistency and served well in the second set to take the match. Another good match, thanks Wayne!"  -- Kieran
Reveal CommentAndrew Pasqualin bt Antony Parselle (Jul 19) 6-3, 3-6, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Always a tough match with Ant.. It was sweltering hot but surprisingly we played a good level of tennis. I just edged it in the third set!!!"  -- Andrew
Reveal CommentKieran Taylor bt Richard Davies (Jul 17) 6-4, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Enjoyed a good game with Rich in very warm weather. He had some very powerful serves which caught me out a few times earning him some aces! However we both struggled to hold serves with more double faults than we would have liked. I was able to finally find some rhythm going into the second set to take it. Don't think we could have taken a third set in the heat!"  -- Kieran
Reveal CommentStuart Scott-Evans bt Richard Davies (Jul 13) 6-4, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • " …with a few more matches under his belt there’s a good chance this one would’ve gone Richard’s way as, by and large, fewer unforced errors on my part was the difference. Thanks for the game and good luck with the rest of them!" -- Stuart
Reveal CommentKieran Taylor bt Stuart Scott-Evans (Jul 10) 7-6 (7-4), 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "A good game with Stuart on a very slippery surface meaning we were both moving around the court very cautiously. Stuart played very well in the first set and with many drop shots that I couldn't reach. However I was just about able to grab the set with just slightly more consistency. I then really found my rhythm in the second set to take the match. Thanks for the game!"-- Kieran
Reveal CommentMatthew Davis bt Stuart Scott-Evans (Jul 3) 6-3, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Not great conditions to play as the rain was coming down at the start but it did clear up as the match went along. The conditions were very quick which lead to quick service games and just the one break in the 1st set was enough for me to take it 6-3. 2nd set was a bit more comfortable as I backed up my service holds with a couple of breaks and took the set 6-2 finishing off with an ace! Good match overall and happy to hit 6 aces in the match which I think is a record for me! Well played Stu! "  -- Matthew
Reveal CommentAntony Parselle bt Matthew Davis (Jun 23) 2-6, 6-3, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "This was really hard work for both of us with the heat, the sun in our eyes at one end. And neither of us constantly finding our rhythm. Matt deserved the first set, I deserved the second set. And could've gone either way in the third had I not found some shots late on after both of us played really tentatively and at times was a matter of who missed the least shots wins! We did have some long rallies though and the momentum shifted constantly. When I did have the energy to get to the net my vollying was my best asset though. And probably just edged it as i barely missed one the whole match. We had played a brilliant friendly the week before. But this was tentative match play! Luckily I won after a 2.5 hour slog."  -- Antony
Reveal CommentMatthew Davis bt Richard Davies (Jun 20) 6-3, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "First time I had played Richard and his first match in 3 years so I wasn’t sure how this would go. I sensed, as expected, some rustiness in Richards game and raced out to a 3-0 lead, after this Richard began finding his range, particularly with his serve which as best was huge and difficult to return. I managed to keep it to the one break and took the opener 6-3! Into the second and a similar pattern emerged. I managed the one break leading up to me serving for it at 5-4. This time I didn’t serve it out as Richard broke me back. A slight dip from Richard in his next service game gave me the chance to serve it out again which I managed to do so! Following last weeks 2 and half hour match against Kieran I was just glad to get over the line!"  -- Matthew
Reveal CommentKieran Taylor bt Antony Parselle (Jun 20) 6-1, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Really enjoyable game again with Antony with some extensive rallies, as has always been the case when we play. A bit of rain throughout always makes it a bit more challenging , but didn't take away from the quality of tennis. I was able to remain consistent throughout and the momentum nearly changed in the second set when Antony took it to 2-2 after far too many deuces for anyone's liking! But I was just about able to to keep my form going and break once to take the set on my serve. Thanks for the match! "  -- Kieran
Reveal CommentKieran Taylor bt Matthew Davis (Jun 14) 5-7, 6-3, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "As always a tough match against Matt, we had a very close 1st set with Matt able to take it after breaking my serve for the 3rd time in the set. I was then able to find some of my best tennis, in particular on my forehand, to take control of the next two sets and cross the finish line despite some really tough points, and some very strong serving from Matt who was able to consistently force me to return on my backhand. Thanks Matt and good luck with your remaining matches. "  -- Kieran

  • "Well played, Alistair - good match." -- Joseph
Reveal CommentJoseph Morrissey bt Alin Babusanu (Jul 23) 7-5, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Alin was a break up for most of the first set and really tested me to get over the line. We played the second set on grass which probably suited my game more in the end, but there were several long deuce games so the score is deceptive."  -- Joseph
Syed Muzamil Baihaqi bt David Lesnik (Jul 22) 6-1, 6-1

Player Comments:
