Great fun though and the match was much closer than the score suggests. Thanks Cathy."  -- Marion

Match of the Group:

Reveal CommentMarion Arnold bt Angie Rusbridge (Dec 3) 5-7, 6-3, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "We started playing in daylight but finished under floodlights and what a close match! Angie managed to secure the first set, although neither of us won our service games Angie managed to pull one out of the bag in the end. All games were very close with many deuces and the match could easily have gone either way. The match lasted close to 3 hours and energy levels were challenged, especially for Angie who had just recovered from illness. Well done Angie for fighting to the end, this was one of the most enjoyable matches I have had in a long time, thank you,."  -- Marion

We went ahead this morning in spite of the weather and managed our two sets on puddly courts and in regular showers. However, we had a competitive game not reflected in the final score with long rallies and many deuces. Really enjoyed it, thanks Cathy! "  -- Susan
