"Loving this league! Games are close and competitive even when the scoreline suggests otherwise and the opportunity to play ladies singles is a godsend to a keen player like me who has tried and failed to join any local clubs in the area due to the prevalence of doubles. The matches in this league have given me the confidence to enter tournaments for the first time ever this summer!", Victoria Chubb

Victoria Chubb

"Just thought I’d say how enjoyable the first Norwich Parks ladies league has been and I’ve signed up for the next one,"

Julie Cooper

Victoria made a huge comeback from 4-1 down in the 2nd set to take go on and win it in the tiebreak. Looking forward to many more games together. Weather was terrible hence playing indoors."  -- Angie
Reveal CommentMaggie Finck bt Helen Wells (Oct 1) 6-1, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "I hadn't met Helen before so it was lovely to play someone new. As we started, it looked as though the wind was going to have a strong influence on the game but thankfully it died down to be replaced by a light drizzle, then the sun broke through again and we were treated to a beautiful rainbow. It's always a pleasure to play tennis outside and enjoy a run around, we had some close games with deuces played, thanks I hope we play again Helen."  -- Maggie
Reveal CommentMaggie Finck bt Wendy Thomson (Sep 27) 6-4, 0-6, [11-9]

Player Comments:

  • "Wendy and I always have a close match and the first set was typical as we were level for most of the way, then in the second set I don't know what happened, it seemed I couldn't do anything right and Wendy was playing very well. We decided we just had time to fit in a tie break and I managed to perk myself up enough to get back on form, so it was another close one which could absolutely have gone either way."  -- Maggie
Reveal CommentSandra O’Neill bt Angie Rusbridge (Sep 27) 6-0, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "A really good game with long rallies - the scores do not justify the quality of tennis played."  -- Sandra
