Group Summary:
What a close battle at the top of this group where both Julie and Liz finished on exactly the same amount of points. We had to look at their head to head score to determine a winner in which Julie managed to come from a set down to beat Liz on a day that boasted 'blue sky and sunshine' - perfect tennis weather! A special mention to everyone for earning their bonus points and leaving lots of lovely match comments too.

- "A fabulous match in beautiful sunshine. No idea how I won as Bev was much more consistent than me and made far fewer mistakes. " -- Liz
Player Comments:
- "A perfect afternoon for tennis! Both seemed to be all guns blazing to start, but we started to fade a little in the summer like sun. Julie really had command of the 2nd set, but I was able to come back stronger in the 3rd. Thanks Julie, really enjoyable match." -- Beverley

Reveal CommentLiz Somerville bt Linda May (Apr 7) 4-6, 6-3, 6-4Player Comments:
- "Matches against Linda are always close and this was no exception. It was thoroughly enjoyable, more so with the lovely warm sunshine" -- Liz
Player Comments:
- "blue sky and sunshine at last. surprising scores compared to our usual long matches and not so many deuce games this time, but we both managed some nice winning shots." -- Julie
Player Comments:
- "Best way to start the day with an early match at 8am! OK, so I overslept and didn't get there until 8.15! In both sets Linda took the lead and we had some great rallies - not so many deuce games as we normally do, and no 3rd set this time, surprisingly - Julie" -- Julie
Group Summary:
Only one point separated Wendy and Maggie at the top but it was Wendy who inched ahead with the help of some added bonus points! But the bragging rights probably belong to Maggie who beat Wendy in a memorable three-setter. Wendy may be regretting the small pep talk that she gave as Maggie came back from a set down to win the match! A warm welcome back to Rhiannon, we hope you enjoyed your comeback round after many months, it's clear your opponents were happy to have you back!

Match of the Group:
Reveal CommentVictoria Chubb bt Rhiannon Mullen (May 6) 1-6, 6-1, 6-2Player Comments:
- "I really enjoy playing Rhiannon as our matches always go three sets and I love that feeling in the middle of a game where you have no idea who is going to win! She thrashed me 6-1 in the first set but after a slight adjustment to my forehand grip I pulled it level with an identical score of 6-1. With one set each under our belts, I relished the anticipation of a final set that could go either way. Being sure to brush up the back of the ball as I served, I managed to pull away at two all to make it 6-2 and win the match. It was a stunning evening, rewarding to see my attacking, aggressive play finally pay off after months of accepting my losses that happen when you purposely try to go up a level and lovely to see Rhiannon after many months" -- Victoria
Player Comments:
- "Very pleasant evening and enjoyable match" -- Maggie
