Great Offers

We offer unbelievable prices on tennis balls. And league members get extra savings!

This is how it works

  • Players are organised into groups of up to 8 people of a similar standard
  • Players arrange their own matches
  • It is a mixed sex, singles league, so men and women play each other
  • You can play on any court that suits both players

The league is

  • For everybody!
  • We welcome beginners as well as advanced players.
  • Players are grouped by ability, so you play only people of a roughly similar level
  • Affiliated to the LTA
  • For adults aged 18 years and above

Key points

  • Matches are best of three tie break sets; if a set reaches 6 games all, it is decided by a tiebreak
  • The evening before the round starts you will receive an email with all the contact details of the players in your group
  • Players are grouped according to past performance in the league and, for new players, their Player Standard Questionnaire
  • Everyone in the group plays each other once during the round
  • You get one point for each set you win
  • If you complete three matches before the midpoint of a round you receive 2 bonus points and a bonus prize (either a pair of Local Tennis Leagues dampeners, or a tube of tennis balls).
  • The winner of each group is the player with the most points at the end of the round
  • The winners get a certificate and tennis prizes
  • Where possible, winners of the groups (and sometimes the top two) are promoted for the next round; those who come bottom (and sometimes the bottom two) are demoted

Missing Something?

If you notice any of our venue information is out of date, missing court costs or opening hours please let us know.

"Absolutely loved my last round, fantastic format and met some really marvellous people. All matches had positive comments from our group and we played on some terrific courts here in Nottingham. Only problem for me, is that I feel I'm more suited to playing doubles. Full credit to your time and effort in making this work and I'm absolutely sure it will get stronger and bigger. I wish you every success for the future."
Phaldie Fredericks
"Just wanted to say a big thank you for organising the league and encouraging folk to play. I've thoroughly enjoyed the experience and met some new people to play social tennis with,"
Jane Peacock

Player Comments:

  • "An exciting, highly competitive match lasting over two hours and played in a great spirit throughout. The scores see-sawed this way and that with both players saving set points and match points at various times. It really was a shame that someone had to lose but, as the saying goes, there are no draws in tennis."  -- Paul

Reveal CommentJames Barlow bt Mohsen Shirazi (Jan 18) 7-5, 7-6 (7-5)

Player Comments:

  • "Epic! Well over two hours for two sets of tennis. I was a break down in both sets, the momentum swing back and forth continuously and Mohsen's serve was getting better the longer the match went on so I'm just glad to get though it in two sets. Top game, top bloke too, cheers! p.s. It's academic, but the second set tie-break we played to 10, the actual score was 10-5 - will know not to play this format next time. "  -- James
Reveal CommentJames Barlow bt Howard Westgate (Jan 15) 6-3, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Very tight first set, went with serve to 4-3, a really tight 8th game was just enough to get me over the line. Second set had a lot of tight games too, all in all a fun game with great rallies from start to finish - cheers!"  -- James

Reveal CommentJames Barlow bt Sofia Kordolaimi (Jan 11) 6-1, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "I have had to log the match score as it's written above due to the score submission format, but the actual score was 4-1, 5-3. We only had an hour to play so played sets to 4 games, the second set being a 'two-clear games' scoreline. Fantastic match, very close games throughout, really enjoyed it! [NB Match provisionally accepted, but if it proved crucial to who won the group it would have to be re-assessed as it was played in a unapproved format. LTL]"  -- James

Player Comments:

  • What a great game, very exciting and a really well contested match, which was far closer than the score reflects (many games went to Deuce and Glen (Hervin) had at least four set points…..very narrow margins!!). Great workout and thoroughly enjoyed by both. – Gary

Reveal CommentHervin Simpson bt Gareth Carrol (Nov 20) 6-3, 4-6, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "A very enjoyable match. It was great to see how Gareth's game has improved in leaps and bounds since our last match up. I served well to take the first set. Gareth dug deep with some good shot selections to level things in the second. I held on under considerable pressure to win the third set but it was by no means easy. I dread our next match up if he continues ti improve at his current rate. Well played Gareth!"  -- Glenn
Reveal CommentEd Walker bt Gareth Carrol (Nov 19) 3-6, 6-4, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "I had a great match with Gareth today. The sun made serving difficult early on. Gareth dominated the 1st set, thanks in part to his excellent touch around the net. Once the sun faded I was able to get my serve going and this helped me slowly turn this match around - what a game!"  -- Ed
