"Just wanted to say a big thank you for organising the league and encouraging folk to play. I've thoroughly enjoyed the experience and met some new people to play social tennis with,"
Jane Peacock

"I've absolutely enjoyed every minute of my tennis. ...it's been great fun. I've learnt so much from each player and has taken away some of my fears of playing singles. Although I didn't win any of my games I had a lot of matches to deuce which shows me how much I've improved. Thank you very much for all your hard work and look forward to next round. ..", Maureen Hutchby

Maureen Hutchby
"Absolutely loved my last round, fantastic format and met some really marvellous people. All matches had positive comments from our group and we played on some terrific courts here in Nottingham. Only problem for me, is that I feel I'm more suited to playing doubles. Full credit to your time and effort in making this work and I'm absolutely sure it will get stronger and bigger. I wish you every success for the future."

Phaldie Fredericks

"V. Good feedback. Much appreciated. I will be registering in the next league,"

Steve Britton

Very smart and tactical play, had me on the ropes for quite some time, before I managed to get to the finish line on the 11th hour. Long rallies and long games and Len hitting two unreal crosscourt forehand winners on the run and a pro-style, down-the-line backhand passing shot, which was the shot of the day. Thanks for a fantastic, albeit exhausting (!), afternoon of tennis, best of luck with your remaining matches 🤜🏻🎾"  -- Emmanouil

Player Comments:

  • "This match was worthy of centre court. Matt and I played so many deuce games with stunning winning shots coming from both sides. When we got to the 3rd set, much of our play was clever thinking , psychology was playing a big part and could not be underestimated especially with our fitness. When we changed ends, I would jog over to my end to show I'm still full of energy, but the reality was I was on a very reserved tank. This league has been excellent, we are all giving each other great games and any one of us could win this league. Thanks Matt for a great match and developing my fitness. 🎾"  -- Steven

He held his serve and for a moment it was looking like Mark had the match wrapped up. I managed a comeback to get to a tie break and won 7-5. It was very close with some great rallies. After 2 hours play, we moved to court 2 for the last set. I took an early lead but Mark was very determined to battle every point. Some excellent passing shots from Mark and some really strong service games to love got him back in the set. but I just edged it to win 6-4. After 5-3 in 1st set I thought it is already done - that was a mistake. Martin is full of surprises and came back winning a tiebreak. After frustrating 1st set, nothing was working for me even more.
