Reveal CommentKamali Sales bt Gilbert Alla-Mensah (Feb 5) 7-5, 2-6, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Wow what a game against Gilbert at the tennis centre. He started off very strong taking a 2-0 lead and I noticed instantly he is one of the cleanest ball strikers I’ve played against. I managed to get back into it with some almost impossible returns after some outrageous hitting from Gilbert. In truth no idea how I won the first set I just had to pray for errors as Gilbert was serving and hitting the ball so well but I held on and took my chances. Second set my level dropped and Gilberts went up even more and he dominated the set and won pretty comfortably with outrageous hitting on both sides. Final set I went 15-40 down on serve, survived somehow and managed to take a 4-0 lead and finished it off 6-2. Thanks for game Gilbert and good luck"  -- Kamali
Reveal CommentCostas Poutziouris bt Tristan Hessing (Feb 4) 6-4, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Great match with Tristan who is always a tricky customer! Tight games throughout with plenty of long gruelling points from the baseline and many deuce games. Good luck for your remaining games and I look forward to playing with you soon mate! "  -- Costa
Reveal CommentKamali Sales bt Ryan Fagan (Feb 2) 6-3, 2-6, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Had a great game with Ryan I managed to start strong and take an early lead in first set before a lot of back and forth deuce games with gruelling rallies before finally I managed to take hold of the first set. In the second set Ryan had fully warmed up and was blowing me off the court and after some close games I finally gave in dropped serve and he hit and served great to win second set. In the final set after a very close opening game on serve which I was fortunate to win I managed to break him then another close game on my serve which I just held and thanks to wind I went 4-0 up. Ryan fought hard and broke me back for 4-1 and after a lot of back and forth I managed to hold on and win 6-2. All the best Ryan look forward to rematch🔥😤"  -- Kamali
Reveal CommentCostas Poutziouris bt Alex Hatton (Feb 1) 6-1, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Good weather conditions today with virtually no wind which is surprising for the tennis centre. 2nd set was tight and I got lucky to break Alex at 2-2 with a couple of lucky shots and then I was able to run away with it. Unlucky for the result today mate and best of luck for your remaining matches!"  -- Costa
Reveal CommentTristan Hessing bt Gilbert Alla-Mensah (Jan 29) 7-6 (7-4), 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Closely contested and some tricky conditions with a low sun and wind gusts. Gilbert is always a tough customer and I was fortunate to come off the better on a handful of key points. Until next time! "  -- Tristan
Ned Birss bt Tristan Hessing (Jan 28) 3-6, 7-5, 6-3
Alex Hatton bt Gilbert Alla-Mensah (Jan 28) 6-3, 5-7, 6-2

Reveal CommentCostas Poutziouris bt Rory Dalgarno (Jan 16) 2-6, 6-1, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Long 3 hour match despite what the scoreline says. Nearly every game went to deuce with some long nice rally’s. Rory started really well and played some amazing tennis in the first set, especially on serve. The start of the second set was important for me and I just managed to hold serve after a really long service game of 10+ minutes and I think that gave me the boost I needed to eventually win. Good luck for your remaining matches mate and I really look forward to playing more tennis with you!"  -- Costa
Ned Birss bt Kamali Sales (Jan 15) 6-3, 6-1
Reveal CommentCostas Poutziouris bt Tom Stocken (Jan 15) 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5)

Player Comments:

  • "Tricky conditions today playing on a slippery surface. All 3 sets were very tight and at 5-5 in the final set tie breaker it could have gone either way. I was lucky to win it today but Tom played some great tennis and hit some lovely winners throughout the match. Unlucky today mate and best of luck for the rest of your games."  -- Costa
Reveal CommentRory Dalgarno bt Tristan Hessing (Jan 15) 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Competitive match. I’m sure Tristan was worried after the first 2 games as the winners were flying off my racket. Soon relapsed into my usual form to leave us with a tight tie-break to finish the first set. Tristan won the next set 6-1. Felt a closer than that but he definitely deserved it. 4-2 down in the decider I thought that was it, but somehow managed to win four games straight to take the match. Great game cheers Tristan"  -- Rory
Reveal CommentKamali Sales bt Tristan Hessing (Jan 14) 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-4)

Player Comments:

  • "Tristan is a great player and absolutely outplayed me during the first set and broke me in the second set thankfully I managed to finally find my game middle second set and bring it back. He had a great first serve and excellent forehand and backhand, just an all round great player. In truth not sure how I’ve won that game but wish him all the best and would like to thank him for his honest commentary of the game. Until next time 🔥"  -- Kamali
  • "Great game against Tristan he destroyed me first set had a great serve and it took a miracle style comeback to come back great to meet you Tristan all the best with the rest of your matches!" -- Kamali
Reveal CommentCostas Poutziouris bt Gilbert Alla-Mensah (Jan 14) 7-5, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Very difficult conditions today and the match could have gone either way in the third set. Gilbert hit some nice winners with the highlight being a sweet forehand winner smashed down the line after I thought I already won the point! Good luck for your remaining games Gilbert!"  -- Costa

Reveal CommentKristian Kouumdjieff bt Manjit Kaliraman (Feb 3) 6-2, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "This was an epic 2+ hour match that felt much closer than the score implies. We had numerous very long rallies thanks to Manjit's ability to return almost any ball and we also had several super long deuce games. Even though there was plenty going on in the game itself, we also had to deal with a bit of wind, a bit of drizzle, a couple of slight slips but no falls, and a couple of interruptions to do with court bookings but fortunately we were able to keep the same court. Finally, we also had the privilege of having our very own ball boy and umpire towards the end when Manjit's son dropped in and excellently fulfilled these duties, completely free of charge. Best of luck in your future matches, Manjit!"  -- Kristian
Reveal CommentAlex Thorp bt Ed Walker (Feb 3) 6-3, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Well played, Ed! We had some really good rallies, particularly in the first set and I thought you might run away with it at 2-2. The second set was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests and the fact I hit four shots which bobbled over the net showed luck was on my side! All the best with your remaining matches."  -- Alex

Reveal CommentKristian Kouumdjieff bt Gared Fisher (Jan 22) 6-4, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Gared is a good player and a good sport. It was a close match with a bit of everything - longer rallies, volleys, strokes of luck and frustrating errors from both sides. In the end I was able to find the lines a little more consistently on this occasion and edge ahead but it was a hard battle. I think we both enjoyed the match overall. Best of luck to Gared going forward!"  -- Kristian
