Every player who completes 3 matches by the mid-point of any Round can claim a FREE can of tennis balls! Plus, there are great offers in our shop.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Players are organised into groups of 6 to 8 players of a similar standard
- It is a mixed sex, singles league
- Groups are put together by standard and there can be any combination of men and women in a group
- Contact details are emailed and posted to each player's account page the day before the Round begins
- Players arrange their own matches, book courts and share costs
- You can play on any court that suits both players
THE LEAGUE IS:
- For anyone over the age of 18
- We welcome beginners as well as advanced players
KEY POINTS:
- There are various scoring formats you can use for your match
- Contact details are emailed and posted to each player's account page the day before the Round begins
- Players are placed in groups according to previous results in the League and, for new players, their Player Standard Questionnaire
- Each player attempts to play each of the other players in their group once during the Round
- A point is awarded for each set won
- If you complete 3 matches before the mid-point of a Round you receive 2 bonus points and a bonus prize
- The winner of the group is the player with the most points at the end of the Round
- The winner of the group wins a voucher for £20 to be spent in the Local Tennis League online shop

Another bumper round in Parliament Hill with 17 new players and 9 groups in total! Collectively just over half of all possible matches were played which is still a lot of tennis, and we were so lucky to finish the round before the second lockdown. Very odd times but we're looking forward to getting going again soon!
Group Summary:
Congratulations to Mark for a successful defence of his Group 1 crown, notching up an impressive 7 wins to finish 5 points clear of runner up Peter. Mark didn't drop a set all round but his closest match was against Alex who put up strong resistance in the opening set before Mark pulled away. Meanwhile John came from a set down to win a good 3 setter against Matt with "diverting conversation about US Elections at change overs"!

There was a clear winner at the top of Group 4 with Billy undefeated on 6 match wins and the only player to earn midway bonus points for early match scheduling. This gave him an 8 point lead over Alexander but Billy was taken to a tiebreak by Stephen in their opening set. Stephen's efforts paid off as he won a "very close to and from match" against Robert in an "unrelenting autumn drizzle"!
