  • "I knew this was going to be a tough match. James is a quality player and I believe if we had played a normal third set he would be the winner! A really enjoyable match to play!!! Thanks. Dave "  -- David
  • "This match deserves a word from both players. Despite losing, the match was played in excellent spirits, with some good quality rallies, serving and overall shot making. In the end, the result was a fair reflection of the match, the better player won and was deserving of it. See you in Div 2 Dave!" -- James

Player Comments:

  • "Great to see Lewis again. Good match but I managed to keep the ball in play a bit more. Thanks. Dave "  -- David
Reveal CommentJames Missen bt Joseph Pickup (Oct 5) 6-0, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "This was a more run of the mill kind of match for me. Unfrotunately for Joseph, a combination of good hitting from me and inconsistancy on his end contributed to a firset set bagel. To his credit, he made alot more balls in set 2, but I held serve well for the most part. Thanks for the match and best of luck for your future endeavours!"  -- James
Reveal CommentJames Missen bt Lewis Richards (Sep 22) 6-3, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Albeit a comfortable scoreline, the match definately didn't follow suit all the way for me. Lewis made this one a highly competitive affair, alongside a few loose moments for me (as standard!). Both held serve until mid set 1 where I took a decisive break at 4-3, generally serving very well to hold. Set 2 was a touger set for me, having to come from 0-2 down, but unfortunately for Lewis, he gave a freebie game away and in the end it proved costly. Thanks for the match and I hope we can hit again."  -- James
Reveal CommentJames Missen bt Adam Bond (Sep 21) 6-2, 3-6, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "A very long and tough match, the 3rd set was a grind! Played well in set 1, having gone 0 - 2 down, found a nice groove on serve and with the forehand. Adam hung in well and fed off my lack of killer instinct and movement to take a well deserved set. The match could have ended either way, with the last set going on serve, up until the final break at the last. Think my serving may have gotten me over the line in the 3rd. Would have been a fair game either way had Adam won the match. Hope we can hit again, thankyou!"  -- James
Reveal CommentDavid Robertson bt Adam Bond (Sep 19) 6-0, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Really enjoyable match. Very close start with both of us struggling to hold serve, I managed to edge away towards end. Mark threw down some great serves and big forehands, just consistency was difference in 2nd set. Looking forward to another hit soon. All the best for rest of your matches."  -- Adam
Reveal CommentDavid Robertson bt Mark Howarth (Sep 9) 6-1, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "A rainy afternoon but we managed to get the match played. A good game but I think the fact I’d been playing more than Mark recently got me the win. "  -- David

  • "A real marathon of a match, lots of exciting rallies. We both played pretty consistently, and while the rallies weren't super long, we were both having to move up and down the court constantly and not just side to side. Wore me down completely, don't think I could have managed if it had gone to a tiebreak. It was really fun, good game!"  -- Mike
