Collapse AllQueen's Park Singles - Round 17 | Thursday 20 February 2020 to Wednesday 15 April 2020 (Midpoint: Wednesday 18 March 2020)
Some of you had only just begun, others were well into the home straight... but however frustrating it was to prematurely end the round, as usual for Queen's Park plenty of excellent and friendly tennis was played. Happy memories to look back on as we await the grand reopening of tennis!
Group Summary:
Certainly not the whole story, but plenty of tennis drama to ensure we have an interesting tale to tell. As the hammer fell, Tanmay had made the most progress to the group title, winning two matches, taking a point of Kaladerhan and picking up his scheduling bonus points. Tough on Martin and Kaladerhan who would definitely be hoping to chase the leader down, but Tanmay is rewarded for his proactive tennis! Here's to resuming battle in a new round soon!

Group Summary:
An excellent return to the league for Mark who got on with his matches, won them all and earned bonus points. Even without the lockdown, the group win would have been his. Very well done. Disappointing walkovers eased Andrew in to second place but if the round had gone on longer, the silver could have been anyone's.

Player Comments:
- "A beautifully sunny day - perfect for tennis. The score was not fully reflective of some tight games and good rallies." -- Mark
Player Comments:
- "Another slightly blustery day and it took a while to settle into the game. Many games were much closer than the score suggests and there were several rallies of 10+ shots. In the end, unforced errors and service was the difference." -- Mark
Player Comments:
- "The score was a little deceptive as a strong, gusty wind was the real winner in this match. There were a number of good rallies and tight games. In the end, however, serve, unforced errors combined with the tricky weather made the difference." -- Mark
Group Summary:
Alex was well established as the front-runner when the curtain prematurely fell, winning three matches and picking up bonus points and the effort earns him the gold. Now, could Sarah have chased down the points to make it even closer at the top if she had been given the time? Very possibly, but that, like so much else, will have to wait for the return of tennis, for brand new rounds, and lives that return to normal. It won't be too long we are sure!

- "A really competitive and great fun match. Very few games didn't have at least one deuce. I thought I had it down up at 3-1 in the second set, but Sarah stormed back into the game to go 4-3 up. I had to dig deep to close out the match with three straight games. " -- Alex
Player Comments:
- "A closely contested tussle for supremacy on the windswept tarmac of Queens Park adjourned with me having sneaked the first set . A see-sawing battle saw Adriene dig in for an early lead but unfortunately for him his serve deserted him allowing me to claw my way back in. To be fought to the finish!" -- Biswadip
Player Comments:
- "A very enjoyable game on a nice afternoon for tennis. We both started with good holds but then struggled with double faults for much of the first set, which went down to the wire as a result. I served much better in the second set and was able to put pressure on Inga's game. Look forward to playing again!" -- Alex
