Local Tennis Leagues Rafa Nadal Academy Tournament Week

Sunday February 25th to Sunday MARCH 4th

We will be running two main competitions during the week, MIXED SINGLES and MIXED DOUBLES.

In addition, depending on demand, we will organise mix-ins help you arrange ad hoc matches! All competition matches will be played on the Accademies's tour standared hard courts. For the schedule of play see here

Mixed Singles DRAW

The Mixed Singles Tournament begins on Tuesday. It will be a double-elimination competition which means a player is only knocked out if they have lost two matches! Players who are knocked out in the first round of the elimination draw will be entered into the plate round robin.

Matches are best of three sets (with tiebreaks at six all).

Mixed Singles Plate

Players who are knocked out of the main singles draw will be entered into the Single Plate Round Robin. Each player will play each of the others. Points will be awarded for sets won (as in the leagues back home). Matches can be best of three sets or played to LTL short format (see here for details). The winner will be the player who accrues the most points!

Mixed Doubles TOURNAMENT

The Mixed Doubles will be round robin format with teams split in to two groups (Group Rafa and Group Nadal). The winners of each group will play each other in the final (format details to be confirmed).

We are hoping all players will take part. If you already have a partner let Sally or Nigel know you would like to play together. Otherwise, the teams will be drawn by Sally (using the match-making skills honed by years of managing the leagues at home!).

Ad Hoc TENNIS

We hope to be running mix-ins and facilitating one off matches for players as required, but please note we have an allocation of pre-booked courts that we have to work within. Where we can, we will help you play on one of these courts, but competition play takes priority. If you separately wish to book a court just do so at reception and the cost will be added to your bill.
