#1 - Get active
We’re fairly positive that getting fit and active is high on many people’s lists, not just at the start of a new year. It can be hard to stay motivated, especially in the winter – we get that – and building a habit can be even harder. But we’ve got to start somewhere.
Tennis is a great total-body workout! It increases cardiovascular fitness, improves muscular endurance and strength, using much of your body for quick movements up and down, and across the court. Click here to read more about the physical and mental benefits of tennis.
Let’s talk practicalities; one of the great things about Local Tennis Leagues, is that a Round runs for 8 weeks, and you’re placed in a group with 6-8 players who are of a similar standard to you. What does this mean? It means 8 weeks to start building a new fitness routine, it means there are others helping you stay accountable (no one wants to let the team down) and it means you’ll play people who you match well with!
