It's Never Too Late To Give Tennis A Go

Marcos Quaas

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I have always been into tennis but never really played it when I was young, so I decided that it's never too late to give it a go.

When did you first start playing tennis and what was your early tennis experience like?

I started playing socially with my partner around 2015, spending more time collecting the balls than actually playing tennis, then I heard about the LTA coaching programs near me and joined. I keep going every week!

What got you started in Local Tennis Leagues?

After improving my level, playing with friends and social tennis evenings in Leeds, I fancied trying the League just to give it a go and see how it was but wasn't sure if my level was right. Then I realised that you will play in a group that is right for you.

What are some highlights from your time with LTL and tennis in general?

Since being in the League, I think that I have improved my game a lot. Still attending the coaching sessions and looking forward to my next League matches.

What have been some of the benefits of LTL and tennis for you?

One of the best things about joining the League is that it has allowed me to visit so many different courts in the Leeds area that I didn't know about and I've also met really nice people whom I still play casually whenever we find time.

Why would you recommend LTL to others?

As you grow older you find activities that you enjoy; playing and improving your tennis can be done at any age. It has a lot of physical and mental benefits, and you will meet people along the way and also find an excuse to meet friends more often!

Ready to give tennis a go? Why not see if there's a League near you starting in 2022!
