Play More Matches & Make New Friends

Charlotte Green

Tell us a bit about yourself.

Hey! I'm Charlotte, I've been playing tennis on and off for 21 years and I'm a qualified Level 2 Tennis instructor, currently on my Level 3 coach course looking to qualify by Christmas.

When did you first start playing tennis and what was your early tennis experience like?

I first started playing when I was around 8 years old, going to tennis camps during the holidays and having some lessons after school. I remember trying to play in some tournaments and matches but there were never enough girls to play against at the time so it is refreshing to now be in a group of 9 players, 7 of which are ladies - sorry gents!

What got you started in Local Tennis Leagues?

I first found Local Tennis Leagues this time last year, wanting to play more matches against people from outside my club and improve at the same time! I really like the set up of the leagues and that it's down to us to organise matches and have the option to play different formats to suit us.

What are some highlights from your time with LTL and tennis in general?

This is a good question! A big highlight would definitely be currently sitting top of my group with 1 match to play before the end of the round. Other than that, just getting to play lots of matches against people of all standards and overcoming some super tight 3 set matches.

What have been some of the benefits of LTL and tennis for you?

The biggest benefit of LTL for me is having the ability to play more! I've always found the hardest part of tennis is actually being able to play more competitively outside of tournaments on a regular basis.

Why would you recommend LTL to others?

I'd recommend LTL to others as it's a great way to meet new people, play more tennis and improve outside of tennis lessons. The people you play against are always up for friendly matches too.

Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about?

If anyone out there is nervous to start or thinks they won't be good enough, give it a go, you might surprise yourself. You will definitely meet new people and have fun at the same time!
