Difficult weather conditions were no match for our Salisbury players this round, who fought on through wind and rain to complete some great matches! The abundance of lengthy rallies, deuce points and tight sets show how closely matched the players were, making for some really exciting scorelines. Thanks to everyone for submitting a lovely range of detailed match descriptions and friendly commentaries. Here’s to the next round!

Group Summary:

It’s great to see that almost all players in Group 1 scored bonus points this round – keen match organisation can make all the difference! It was incredibly close at the top of the group, with Liz and Jeremy both finishing the round with eight points. The winner was decided by a tense (and windy!) head-to-head which saw Liz come out on top – well played both! Pierre and Jonathan played a tight three sets, Liz and Ciaran had a dramatic tiebreak, Ciaran and Jonathan had plenty of deuces and Jeremy and Jonathan had lots of lengthy rallies!

Group Summary:

Chris and Arash played a dramatic three sets, Stephen and Chris had plenty of deuce points, Antonia and Stephen played an enjoyable two sets, and Antonia and Chris weren’t put off by the rain! As in Group 1, the overall winner was decided by a tense head-to-head match, which ended in a victory for Antonia. Well done to runner-up Stephen for being the only player in the group to score bonus points!
