Thanks for your efforts nonetheless and we hope to see you next time for many more matches now the summer months are on their way!

Reveal CommentRoger Parkin bt Rupert Banks (Apr 15) 6-0, 2-6, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "This was just one of those days when we both played badly. Too many unforced errors to count from both of us. In the end I scrapped home. Always a pleasure to play Rupert. "  -- Roger
Reveal CommentFalco Niekoop bt Rupert Banks (Apr 13) 5-7, 7-5, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Rupert had match point when he was 40-30 and 5-4 up in the 2nd. He then missed a volley at the net which got me back to duece and lead to me winning the game, set and eventually the match. Better luck next time Rupert! Thanks for a good match."  -- Falco
Reveal CommentPhil Nash bt Falco Niekoop (Apr 12) 6-2, 3-6, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "I would have put money on it being a 3 setter. First set I race to a 2 love lead, at 15-40 I think 3 love hear we come, then a couple of booming aces and unreturnables got Falco out of jail to 2-1. Then at 15-40 on my own serve I thought how am I not 3 love up and facing 2 all. I then reeled of some decent first serves of my own and went to 3-1, then 6-2. Second set Falco raced to 3 love. It was almost 12 straight points were it not for one double fault at 40 love. Falco levelled match 6-3. All throughout the points were pretty short and Falco often blasted winners and aces through the back fencing, sheer power, but Phil just got the better of the final set 6-2. Cheers Falco."  -- Phil
Reveal CommentFrank Bulley bt Sandeep Minhas (Apr 9) 6-4, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Great game Sandeep, many thanks."  -- Frank
Reveal CommentPhil Nash bt Sandeep Minhas (Apr 7) 6-3, 2-6, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "On a cloudy overcast morning another 3 set match showing not a lot between us. Phil went into a seemingly comfortable lead at 4-1 but a 10 deuce service game won by Sandeep closed to 4-3 and could have been a momentum shift. 2nd set Sandeep went 2 love up, 4-1 up (after another 10 deuce game) and never looked like losing that 2nd set. 3rd set was tight, Phil trying to chip and charge and getting better luck playing to forehand. Phils bottle went on playing any forced back hands throughout and was lucky to get away with the match. Cheers Sandeep."  -- Phil
Reveal CommentBernardo Francisco Contrera Jimenez bt Roger Parkin (Apr 7) 6-4, 3-6, 6-4

  • "A tough match with plenty of long games. Plenty of winning volleys and good serving. Bernardo's fitness and athleticism finally coming out on top. Well played Bernardo look forward to playing you again. Rog "  -- Roger
Reveal CommentPhil Nash bt Rupert Banks (Apr 1) 6-3, 2-6, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "No better way to brush off the working day with an evening match. The first set went my way with a lot of hard traded rallies. 2nd set I tried to let some back hands top, a few looked quiet good but slowly it broke down and tentative chipping back took over. Rupert put some solid service games together and never let the momentum go. 3rd set I got a good start and tried to keep the rallies going running rallies down. Nice match Rupert, see you again. Phil"  -- Phil

Match of the Group:

Reveal CommentBernardo Francisco Contrera Jimenez bt Phil Nash (Mar 16) 5-7, 6-4, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "A really tight match, nothing short of what we expected. First set, no breaks until the 11th game when Phil took 7-5 Second set, Bernardo 3 love up then 4-3 down then 6-3 up. Final set, almost went to 6-all which would have been awkward ‘cos Phil wanted a tiebreak at 6all and Bernardo did not. But 7-5 to Bernardo final set. The elephant in the room was the gale force winds, seriously strong. For me it made for interesting rallies, I could slice a serve on the right that Bernardo had to play from inside the adjacent court. The when Bernardo hit anything to my back hand side from one end, the weight of the shot was un-real. Well played Bernardo !"  -- Phil

Reveal CommentFalco Niekoop bt Roger Parkin (Mar 4) 7-5, 4-6, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "A tough but enjoyable contest. Its what LTL is all about. Falco's power verses my cunning and guile.... we both served well in blustery conditions, with Falco's kick serve almost unplayable at times. I made some good service returns but alas not enough of them!! In the end youth overcame experience. Well played Falco. Look forward to playing again soon! Rog "  -- Roger
