Player Comments:

  • "Great match as always against Vlad today with home advantage for me this time on the astro turf . Overall the match had a good level with few momentum swings and close games mostly in second set when Vlad played really well the end I've managed to be more consistent and that helped me to win today Looking forward to our next match...Thanks and well played Vlad"  -- Silviu
Reveal CommentSilviu Herbei bt Krzysztof Waldon (Sep 24) 7-5, 7-6 (7-2)

Player Comments:

  • "Very close match against Krzysztof this evening in Malvern Park on a windy weather where the result in both sets could have gone either way. Well played Krzysztof ..thanks! "  -- Silviu
Reveal CommentNav Aulkh bt Krzysztof Waldon (Sep 20) 6-4, 2-6, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Second time I've played Krzysztof, and he has clearly improved in finishing off points. Really good match at Malvern Park with many long rallies. The 3rd set is abit flattering as many games went to deuce. Well played and look forward to our next matxh"  -- Nav
Reveal CommentRichard Randle bt Nav Aulkh (Sep 14) 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "A superb match with Vlad indoors at Tudor Grange. I've played a few matches there recently, which I think helped me to make a fast start and win the first set. I knew Nav would come back and he gained a big lead in the second set before I pushed it to a tie break, which Nav won to deservedly take the second set. I was then able to play consistent tennis in the third set although many games were close, making the 6-1 scoreline a bit flattering. I look forward to our next match."  -- Richard
Reveal CommentRichard Randle bt Krzysztof Waldon (Sep 14) 6-4, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "Another great battle with Krzysztof. Once again, he chased absolutely everything but his overall game has improved as well. His net play in particular was impressive as he ended several points with volleys. Krzysztof was leading both sets 4-3 so was unlucky to not win at least one set today. He's getting more difficult to beat with every match we play. Thanks for the game and I look forward to the next one."  -- Richard
Reveal CommentSilviu Herbei bt Richard Randle (Sep 12) 1-6, 6-2, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Great to meet and play Richard again. The game was tight as always with many quality rallies where Richard started really well in first set which made me overthink & questioning my presence there. In second set Richard slowed down a bit and somehow I've managed to get my head around and get back into the game where I think my serve helped me once again to stay ahead in the end. Well played Richard and looking forward to our next match.Thanks"  -- Silviu
Reveal CommentVlad Giurcaneanu bt Nader Feghhi (Sep 11) 6-1, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "An easier match than expected, as Nader struggled to find any consistency. To make things even worse for Nader, I somehow managed to hit 3-4 perfectly timed winners with the racket’s frame… "  -- Vlad
Reveal CommentKrzysztof Waldon bt Vlad Giurcaneanu (Sep 9) 6-4, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "I won with better player. That was another Vlad's match day by day. "  -- Krzysztof
Reveal CommentRichard Randle bt Nader Feghhi (Sep 9) 7-5, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Having played Nader a few times in the past, I know how good a player he is and how well he hits the ball. I couldn't cope with his shots early in the first set and he had a few set points on my serve at 4-5 before I luckily held. I was also 2-4 down in the second, which shows how unfortunate Nader was to lose this evening. I look forward to our next match! "  -- Richard
Reveal CommentRichard Randle bt Vlad Giurcaneanu (Sep 8) 2-6, 6-4, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "A thoroughly undeserved win for me. Vlad totally dominated the first set, hitting great shots on both the forehand and backhand. This continued in the second set but I chased everything and worked hard for any point I could win. Vlad got a slight injury in this set and I won it despite being second best. We just about had time to finish the third set before Tudor Grange closing time but there's no doubt that the better player this evening lost the match. No doubt we'll play many matches in the future as we have over the past few year. It's always close, competitive tennis. "  -- Richard
Reveal CommentKrzysztof Waldon bt Nader Feghhi (Sep 4) 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, [10-5]

Player Comments:

  • "Really good match. Thank You Nader!"  -- Krzysztof
Reveal CommentSilviu Herbei bt Nader Feghhi (Sep 2) 6-3, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Nice meeting and playing Nader in a league match again as we have played many matches over the past years and they been always competitive and under a good spirit. Today it was the same but Nader didn't played at his normal level so I've managed to stay ahead on both set's. Thanks for another match Nader and I look forward to our future matches."  -- Silviu
Reveal CommentSilviu Herbei bt Nav Aulkh (Aug 27) 6-1, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "An enjoyable match against Nav today on a lovely weather. This was our third match where Nav won previous 2 matches fairly comfortably so I was pleased with my winning today but I admit that playing today on a quick surface (turf) made the difference. Overall we had some great rallies and close games especially in the second set where Nav had a great comeback but somehow I've managed to hang in and see it out. Well played Nav and see you next time..thanks! I was relatively consistent and managed to take the majority of the points"  -- Silviu
Reveal CommentNav Aulkh bt Nader Feghhi (Aug 26) 6-2, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Enjoyable match against Nader. The longer the match went on the more Nadar improved. The 2nd set could have been alot tighter as Nadar found his cross court bankhand and many games went to dunce. Well played, looking forward to our next match."  -- Nav

Reveal CommentJonathan Winspeare bt Jose Antonio Gervas Molinos (Sep 17) 3-6, 6-1, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Great to meet Jose for the first time tonight. Jose played a great first set winning 5 games in a row to claim the first set leaving me doubting my game and my ability. His first serve is the fastest I've faced and his finesse around the net is very good also. The second set I found some rhythm and was up 3-1. During the 5th game on Jose serve we might have got close to 20 deuce's the game went on for an eternity. I managed to nick that game and definitely felt a momentum shift. From there the match went more my way. Was a close match and I really had to work for the win tonight. "  -- Jonathan

Reveal CommentVik Ramakrishnan bt Laurence Chan (Sep 11) 6-1, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "One of those days I couldn’t find any rhythm in my game. I was very lucky to win some crucial points and then the match eventually. Lawrence too didn’t have a good day at office, apart from the serve his rallies let him down. He found his serve and volley working well in the second set but it was a little late by then. Good luck Lawrence for rest of the matches and future leagues. "  -- Vik

Player Comments:

  • "Great to meet Cristian. We exchanged some great rallies and Cristian hit some lovely winners particularly with his one handed topspin backhand which is a real weapon. I broke a string in the second set and Cristian graciously let me use his spare racket to finish the match - a true gent. Look forward to next time "  -- Pretesh
Reveal CommentVik Ramakrishnan bt Jose Antonio Gervas Molinos (Sep 6) 6-0, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Another great game with Jose. Condition wasn’t perfect expecting downpour anytime, managed to get our match completed in tough windy conditions. I managed to control the rallies better that made the difference in the end. Well played mate and good luck for rest of the games."  -- Vik
Reveal CommentJonathan Winspeare bt Laurence Chan (Sep 4) 6-4, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Brilliant game today with Laurance. Through the whole of the first set Laurence had me at multiple deuce's on everyone of my service games, making me work extremely hard. At 4-4 I managed to break and hold serve to take the fist set, Laurance could not have been closer to winning it himself. The second set I started to find more rhythm, hitting more first serves and producing less unforced errors. Laurance's serve had me in all kinds of trouble, at times I had no idea what to do with it it was that fast. Shot of the match has to go to Laurance as well, my approach shot felt fast and deep into his back hand corner on for him to whip the most beautiful backhand passing shot leaving me in awe. Well played."  -- Jonathan
Reveal CommentPretesh Chauhan bt Laurence Chan (Sep 4) 6-3, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "The match was much closer than the score line suggests. Laurence’s technique is excellent. He narrowly missed some shots on key points which allowed me to get the edge. Great to meet you and look forward to our next game. "  -- Pretesh
Reveal CommentJonathan Winspeare bt Ronan Byrne (Sep 3) 6-4, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "Well played to Ronan today he really made me earn the win. He took early leads in both sets, playing tennis that kept me on the move all the time and he hit some great forehands down the line. Today I was a little bit more solid and I managed to find some big first serves at some key moments. Good to meet you."  -- Jonathan

  • "First ever match against Ronan. Great talent and he has all round game. If only he had made less double faults and unforced errors the score line would have been a lot different. Thanks for the game mate and look forward for our next meeting. "  -- Vik
Reveal CommentJonathan Winspeare bt Cristian Teoreanu (Aug 26) 4-6, 6-1, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Very nice to meet Cristian today. Today was one of those days where I won but probably didn't deserve too. Cristian has a rocket for a serve, backhand and forehand, sometimes it felt like I was just sticking my racket in the way to get the ball back. If Cristian can produce less unforced errors I'm sure he will beat me next time round. Good game."  -- Jonathan

  • "Perfect weather for tennis tonight, warm, no wind and a lovely sunset in Knowle Park. The score line was very flattering to me today. Well played Lucy, I'll look forward to our next match :)"  -- Richard

Player Comments:

  • "This was the first time that I've played Sean. The weather wasn't the best - cool for the time of year and windy at times, thankfully it had stopped raining earlier but the court was a little bit slippy in places as it was still dying out. Sean had a few double faults and didn't fully find his rhythm until the second set. The score line was flattering in the end. We had a third friendly set where Sean was more relaxed and the set was much tighter with longer rallies. Thanks for a great evening of tennis. I'll look forward to our next match. Best regards Rich"  -- Richard

  • "It was good to see Jez again and play our league match at a sunny and still Knowle park - the last time we played was in very strong winds back in February! I won the first set comfortably. However the second set was much different with some terrific long rallies and Jez starting to find his range and depth, particularly on the forehand. I managed to stem a mid-set recovery and eventually get over the line. Many thanks for the game Jez and I look forward to playing you again in the future. "  -- Dougald

  • "This was the first time I have played Rich in the Solihull League and it was a very enjoyable game on the evening of an historic and moving day. The first set contained many good rallies, with points going to deuce on numerous occasions. The score was flattering to me in this set. In the second set, the games got longer and the rallies even more competitive. The light was fading fast in the last 3 or so games and I was fortunate to get over the finish line before total darkness descended on Knowle Park! Thank you for a great game, Rich and I look forward to playing you again in the future. "  -- Dougald
