Reveal CommentJames McGaughey bt Deji Jaiyesimi (Nov 2) 6-2, 2-6, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "Good competitive match. I played well in the first set but couldn't maintain it and Deji took full advantage in the second, making very few errors and hitting some good drop and drive volley winners. After two early breaks in the third it stayed on serve until 5-5, when I managed to play two good games and take the match. Thanks Deji for the game and getting us the indoor court, a treat after a load of filthy weather."  -- James
Reveal CommentKevin Lomas bt Andrew De Csillery (Oct 31) 6-2, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "Ignore the score line! I have had many battles with Andrew over the years and the theme is the same. Andrew leads extremely well its just my game forces him into errors which I can only apologise for. The first set was cat and mouse and after winning it I would have taken a point for a set in the match all day long. After a great start in the 2nd set by Andrew and a long opening few games I just edged ahead forcing Andrew into some errors off my backhand slice which annoys me as much as anyone else. I just managed to see the set out as comfortable as the score suggests, it was not! Was lovely to catch up with Andrew on a personal level, and the tennis was at times a side distraction. Look forward to next time mate. "  -- Kevin
Reveal CommentNadeem Rehman bt Jordan Harp (Oct 31) 6-3, 4-6, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Another great match - Jordan is tall and athletic and made light work of some of my best shots which was frustrating! Jordan has just returned to playing tennis and I can see him being even more of a handful in the future once his confidence levels increase and his shots increase in power but his placement is immaculate and good enough to have me running all over the place. Nice one Jordan, we will meet again no doubt in the near future :)"  -- Nadeem
Reveal CommentDeji Jaiyesimi bt Claire Morrison (Oct 31) 7-5, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Enjoyable and competitive match with the two of us playing well, particularly in the first set, with some good rallies and variety. The enjoyment continued in the first part of the second set, before both Claire and I battled the weather (!), and I managed to close out the second set in the wind and pouring rain! Would love to play again!"  -- Deji
Reveal CommentPralin Mehta bt Andrew De Csillery (Oct 29) 3-6, 6-2, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Competitive game against a technically sound player. Andrew arguably deserved to win the match & probably would have had it not been for a slight injury. Good luck with the remaining games!"  -- Pralin
Reveal CommentPralin Mehta bt Kevin Lomas (Oct 26) 6-2, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "Good game on a freezing early morning & wet court. Kevin’s a consistent player with a wicked slice and deserved to win the 2nd set. Good luck with the remaining games!"  -- Pralin
Reveal CommentClaire Morrison bt Nadeem Rehman (Oct 25) 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3)

Player Comments:

  • "Wow! What can I say! A brutal 3 hour 20 minute battle and my watch informed me I’d run 11K. What a fantastic game, could have gone either way, Nad chases EVERYTHING down and is super quick! Great rallying, great competitive, friendly match, Thankyou Nad! Sorry we played so long you missed the jacuzzi Nad ;)"  -- Claire
  • "Epic match! Evenly matched and some of the longest rallies I have ever been involved in. Both of us were nursing minor injuries but that wasn't going to stop us from chasing the ball all around the court........with a few admirers watching on the nearby courts! The fitter and overall better player on the day won, well done Claire..........look forward to a rematch in the near future :)" -- Nadeem

Reveal CommentAshley Guinn bt Craig Shields (Oct 25) 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Another really tightly contested match against Craig, this time on clay. I was struggling to return Craig's serve initially, which has a lot of spin. Likewise, Craig's forehand is very powerful with a lot of spin but he also has a lot of variety too. Craig took a lead in the first set. I managed to fight back a bit, but it ultimately went Craig's way. I was up 5-4 and then 6-5 in the second set, but Craig fought back every time. We had to change to another court before the tiebreak in the second set, and from that point, the momentum seemed to switch my way. Thanks for the match Craig. "  -- Ashley
Reveal CommentCraig Shields bt Christopher Gorczewski (Oct 23) 6-3, 6-2
