Reveal CommentDeji Jaiyesimi bt Claire Morrison (Jan 4) 0-6, 6-4, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "After a first set in which Claire dictated play and my serving and game were inconsistent, I finally (!) found some rhythm on serve which helped me find consistency with the rest of my game and led to some engaging, arduous, rallies with Claire, and two tight sets in sets 2 and 3. Good to get the game in before Lockdown! Well played Claire, I'm sure we will play again March time!"  -- Deji
Reveal CommentClaire Morrison bt Andrew De Csillery (Jan 3) 3-6, 6-2, 7-5

Player Comments:

  • "Another super match against Andrew. The match honestly could have gone either way, we had some exceptional rallies-I guess today was just my day. Next time... who knows. Thanks Andrew for coming to Hitchin and look forward to the next time we play."  -- Claire
Reveal CommentJordan Harp bt Deji Jaiyesimi (Jan 3) 7-6 (7-1), 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "A very competitive match. The first set was gruelling with lots of long rallies. The turning point was when Deji missed a shot he wouldn’t normally miss at the net on set point 5-2 up. I clung on for dear life again at 5-4 down needing multiple game points before levelling up and proceeding to take the set on a tie break. The 2nd set was more competitive than the scoreline suggests and also was a lot more expansive with a few more winners. Thankfully the weather held and I came away with the win. Thanks for the game Deji! "  -- Jordan
Reveal CommentAndrew De Csillery bt Deji Jaiyesimi (Jan 2) 7-6 (8-6), 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "A tight game, particularly the first set. I kept getting my nose in front, Then Deji came back and levelled things up. Same story in the tie break - I was lucky in the end. Second set was a bit easier, with the sun unexpectedly playing a key role at one end, which I think impacted Deji’s serve in particularly. A nice game - thank you Deji and good luck for your other games. "  -- Andrew
Reveal CommentClaire Morrison bt Gustavo Farina (Dec 31) 0-6, 6-1, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "As you can tell for the score, Gustavo unfortunately developed an injury in the 2nd set. However, despite this, he continued to play and we still both thoroughly enjoyed the game! Wishing Gustavo a quick and full recovery and back on court ASAP. We had some cracking rallies and soon warmed up on this very chilly New Years evening..."  -- Claire
Reveal CommentClaire Morrison bt Nadeem Rehman (Dec 30) 6-4, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Good long rallies and super chasing by Nad. Nad almost grabbed the 2nd set! Always enjoy our games, full of grit and determination and not giving up. We braved the cold and biting wind (both admittedly fair weather players ;) "  -- Claire
Reveal CommentAndrew De Csillery bt Jordan Harp (Dec 29) 6-2, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "I carried over the good form from the previous match and hit a lot of winners, not giving Jordan many opportunities. But there were some good rallies, particularly when Jordan had the confidence to hit through the ball. Well played and good luck for the remaining matches. "  -- Andrew
Reveal CommentAndrew De Csillery bt Nadeem Rehman (Dec 27) 6-3, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "A closer game than the score suggests but I hit a lot of winners and focused on Nadeem’s weaker side, which forced errors too. Lots of good rallies and a good way work off some Christmas excess. Thanks for the game Nadeem. "  -- Andrew
Reveal CommentGustavo Farina bt Andrew De Csillery (Dec 24) 6-3, 7-5

Player Comments:

Reveal CommentToby Sweeney bt Amin Dahesh (Dec 22) 6-0, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "After being unable to play at Gosling we switched the venue to OA’s. It was enjoyable match against Amin, who had an excellent forehand with lots of topspin; the conditions at OA’s certainly suited me over Amin, with the lower bounce & quick conditions hampering Amin’s forehand. "  -- Toby

Player Comments:

  • "The conditions were not ideal, given the torrential rain earlier, but we managed to get the game finished at OA's. It was a pleasure to play Alice, we had some entertaining rallies! "  -- Toby
