Reveal CommentKevin Lomas bt Zak Thompson (Jul 26) 6-1, 6-2
Player Comments:
- "Was lovely to meet Zak and get our match played and the match did not disappoint. The first set was close with many rallys and some good net play by Zak but I just edged it despite the 6-1 scoreline. The 2nd set was a lot closer with Zak winning a game on his serve comfortably to love and the rallys continuing to flow. Some rallys I could barely catch my breath with Zak showing great resilience and hitting some lovely winners. Zak also saved 3/4 match points so he fought really well right to the end. Good luck with your remaining matches and hopefully see you on court again in the near future. " -- Kevin

Player Comments:
- "Thank you Jonathan for the match, it was a hot but cloudy evening the first set went really fast but Jonathan grew more into the match in the second one which was much more competitive! Good luck with the rest of the matches Jonathan hopefully see you in the next round again. Cheers, Huanjia" -- Huanjia
Reveal CommentEren Ozkan bt Jonathan Sandars (Jul 12) 6-1, 6-2
Player Comments:
- "Great to get this game played. Weather was hot but rainy... both were doing less running and more trying on winning shots... I've just managed to keep my nerve and keep my consistency to take the sets. Jonathan has some very nice low slices, which are hard to convert at times. Cheers for the game... looking forward to playing again soon." -- Eren
Reveal CommentKevin Lomas bt Zac Sargusingh (Jul 11) 6-3, 6-0
Player Comments:
- "We both made the decision to change courts onto the grass which had a Wimbledon feel about it and it took us a few games to both find our rhythm to adjust to the low bounce. The first set was poised at 3-3 with nothing between us both and when I managed to break Zac's serve I managed to hold my own and see the set out. The second set was similar to the first with Zac just missing out on a number of lobs which were inches away from being winners. With temperatures of 30 degrees plus I tryed to focus on winning the second set and the scoreline doesn't do justice to Zac as he played really well with some lovely winners. Lovely to meet you and good luck with your remaining matches. " -- Kevin
Reveal CommentKevin Lomas bt Eren Ozkan (Jul 7) 6-2, 2-6, 6-3
Player Comments:
- "Was great to meet Eren and play on the clay at hatfield David lloyd, although not my favourite of surfaces it was a highly enjoyable match with lots of breaks on each others serves and varied play. The first set could have gone either way as the sun was gazing down on one end of the court making it hard to serve and hard to judge the pace of the ball. The second set Eren took full control on and it was a role reversal of the first set with the same score line. Eren played some lovely shots up and down the lines making it impossible for me to even get a racket on it. The 3rd set was anyone's and with the sun gone we played many rallys and I just managed to get ahead and hold my nerve to take the set. Look forward to playing you again soon!" -- Kevin
Reveal CommentKevin Lomas bt Max Bourgognon (Jul 3) 6-2, 6-1
Player Comments:
- "Firstly thank you Max for making the journey to watford its much appreciated. The first set I raced into a 2-0 lead for Max to then storm back to 2-2, I tryed to be a bit more consistent on my serve and it worked well and I managed to see out the set 6-2. Max admitted himself he was finding it hard to find his own consistency but based on our previous meeting I knew how well he can play so I was trying to take the pace of the game and keep him on his baseline. The second set I managed to get a few games ahead and in the past my consistency let me down but I tryed to focus and keep doing the same. Every game was close and competitive and I hope your injury in the last game isn't too painful after your fall. Look forward to our next battle. " -- Kevin

Player Comments:
- "Thanks for the game Zac, good luck with the rest of the matches!" -- Huanjia
Reveal CommentMax Bourgognon bt Huanjia Yang (Jun 27) 7-6 (7-5), 0-6, 6-3
Player Comments:
- "I really enjoyed playing against Huanjia who has a very solid and complete game. Today went my way to be honest we started on the clay courts of Gosling that were too slippery (and almost dangerous) and had to change to courts with carpet with quite a lot of sun which was clearly disturbing. The first set was extremely close and I got it in the end but it could have gone wither ways. The second set… well… a real doughnut for me as Huanjia gave me no chance at all and used his powerful forehand to punish any of my short returns. The last set was quite close but the sun was again disturbing and I found some energy to come back and reverse a game which was pretty much 1 sided. I hope to play you again Huanjia as I really enjoyed this!" -- Max

Reveal CommentMax Bourgognon bt Eren Ozkan (Jun 22) 6-3, 5-7, 6-2
Player Comments:
- "Really nice to meet Eren and it was great game where the score clearly highlights that there were some intense moments!! We played on turf, a surface that Eren knows how to take advantage of. The score was always close and we both had our highs and lows during those 2.5h. The match was mentally and physically exhausting and it could have gone both ways. In the end, it was probably down to my son being 4 months older than Eren’s daughter and mine is now making his nights :-) looking forward to playing you again! " -- Max
