Player Comments:

  • "Pleasure to play Cameron again after the last round, another close match where the 1st set went the distance to a tie break without either of us dropping a service game, some solid serves in the tie break put me a few points ahead early on, 2nd set Cameron broke first to go 3-2 ahead then I instantly broke back & held serve to get to 5-4 & broke Cameron’s serve to take the match, some solid games going the distance that seemed to go on for some time, some quality shots & I defended well against Cameron’s attacking game, thanks again Cameron, looking forward to our next game "  -- Richard
Reveal CommentMonir Ahmed bt Scott Lishman (Feb 8) 6-2, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "Scott won the toss and decided to receive. The first set started with great intensity from both sides; I was able to strike first with an early break and was leading 3-0. Scott hit many solid ground strokes with winners and broke me back, chasing 2-3. I broke again with consistent serves and returns and won the first set 6-2. The second set was even more intense with breaking each other; Scott hit harder offensive-winning shots, took an early break, and led the set 4-2. I was fortunate to defend some of his fierce groundstrokes in crucial moments and break back, levelling the set 4-4. It could go either way but I managed to force Scott to errors and took the second set too to clinch the victory. Many thanks, Scott."  -- Monir

Reveal CommentMonir Ahmed bt Richard Corrigan (Jan 24) 6-0, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "I won the toss and decided to receive. Richard was consistent with his serves; I was able to return well. There were long rallies; many games ended with duces. Richard had several breakpoints but was unlucky to capitalize, and that's how 1st set ended with a bagel. Richard kept trying harder, but his unforced errors did not help him to get more than a game in the second set. It was enjoyable playing in pleasant weather conditions. Thanks Richard. "  -- Monir
Reveal CommentRichard Corrigan bt Tahani Maturi (Jan 20) 6-0, 6-0

Player Comments:

  • "Nice playing Tahani, a match with few good rallies & a couple of games that went to deuce but managed to see the games out, good luck in your next matches Tahani "  -- Richard
Reveal CommentMonir Ahmed bt Cameron Loftus (Jan 20) 6-7 (5-7), 6-0, 6-1

Player Comments:

  • "It was such an epic 1st set that took about one and a half hr to finish (1 hr 25 mins exactly)-Cam played with such a high level and consistency that it was tough to win any point without a hard battle. All games in 1st set were played with duces and long baseline rallies. Cam was leading 5-3 with a break, but I managed to break back to take the set in the tiebreaker. But Cam maintained his consistency and took the first set 7-6. Some tactical changes helped me to dominate the second and third sets to win the match. What a great, entertaining tennis match! Many thanks, Cam, for the game. Indeed, we will play many more to come! "  -- Monir
