Player Comments:

  • "This is probably the first time Rob and I played in a competitive singles match! Both of us made some mistakes in the first set but the difference was that Rob had many more winners than errors and it was the opposite for me... With a one break advantage, Rob won the set comfortably. The second set was much closer and we had some great rallies! I was down at 2-4 but managed to come back to 6-5 and couldn't break Rob's serve to take the set. Rob played a brilliant game in the tie break and I managed to get just one point out of it. Learnt a lot from the match and looking forward to our next match now! :)" Bobby

Player Comments:

  • "Really even contest with both of us not fully recovered from tough matches in the week. Both first and second set going similar ways with probably a few more unforced errors creeping in to our games than usual, purely down to fatigue. We still managed some great baseline rallies with some lovely clean winners, unfortunately mostly from bobby ! Yet again my serve saved me in the last game and just to many unforced errors from Bobby being the deciding factor. Look forward to many more matches against Bobby and know it won't be long till the score line will be reversed ! "  -- Ian

Player Comments:

  • "A wonderful and epic game of tennis. Well played Ian, first set Ian totally outplayed me even though I came from 0-5 and Ian won it 7-5. That set took a lot out of Ian physically and I managed to win 2nd and 3rd set by luck as Ian was not giving up and pretty much gave me a good game. All the best mate and hopefully you win all your remaining matches"  -- Shaun

Player Comments:

  • "Enjoyed playing this match even though it was completely one-sided. Thomas played an excellent game - forced errors off me and tempted me to take risks which saw me make additional unforced errors! We had some good rallies which ended either with a winner from Thomas or an unforced error from me. The best man won! Learned a lot from Thomas and looking forward to playing him again, some time later. "  -- Bobby

Player Comments:

  • "Our first match this season! Was great to play Nathan again in the league. It was a roller-coaster of a match with many long games going from deuce to advantage to deuce (swaying both sides), although the scoreline doesn't show it for the first set. I managed to come out on top of some of these long games. Seemed like we couldn't hold our service games in the second set with both of us breaking each other's serves until 4-4! This match had literally everything in it - long rallies, drop shots, lobs, aces, forehand and backhand winners, lots of unforced errors, and injuries!! Thanks for the great game Nathan! All the best for the other matches. "  -- Bobby

  • "Now I'm not the type of person to take advantage of a situation to benefit myself. However with that being said that's exactly what I did ! Nathan had just finished his first match of the league in a tough encounter with Bobby. So with a visibly tired Nathan willing to play on, my cunning plan began with a 6-0 first set start. Unfortunately for me I wasn't planning on Nathan getting his second wind and really raising his game. It ended 6-4 in my favour thanks to a strong and much needed service game to clinch the win.
