Player Comments:

  • "A relegation scrap - the Watford v Burnley of the tennising world! Spread over 2 separate days this was an epic battle - the first set Joe closed out on the basis of winning some service games, the second set the opposite, and when we returned for the second day I edged the key games at 4-4 to marginally win it. Great game played in great spirits, and could easily have gone either way - well played and hopefully we will get the chance to play each other again in the next round!"  -- Luke

Player Comments:

  • "The set score really didn't reflect the matchplay which was quite a lot more even. We had several long games that were hard fought but I ended up coming out on top this time. "  -- Ari
Ari Krepostman bt Paul Brennan (Nov 16) 6-1, 3-6, 6-1
Reveal CommentPaul Brennan bt Luke Newman (Nov 15) 6-4, 2-6, 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Great tussle Luke. We both played some brilliant tennis (and some not so great shots). The 2.5 hours was a long one! You've got a great serve and kept me on my toes, and with your speed around the court, we kept each other on the move. I hope all goes well with the rest of your games, and we will meet again soon."  -- Paul

Reveal CommentPaul Brennan bt Joe Croft (Nov 13) 6-3, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Joe and I had a good tussle, Joe has a great style, lots of curve on the ball. We had some great points, and we both played a variety of good and poor shots so the games went back and forth. Joe had a great first serve, and I managed to hit a few down the sidelines. We had a great time, and I'll be happy to play Joe again, he's a great guy."  -- Paul

Reveal CommentAri Krepostman bt Luke Newman (Nov 7) 7-6 (7-3), 6-3

Player Comments:

  • "Really fun match I think for both of us. My serve was on and going in relatively often (for me). Luke did a great job returning serve - was able to retun some of the fastest serves I've ever hit since returning to tennis as an adult. We also both had fun playing with the sun as a strategic element since it was low in the sky and made it difficult to see the ball for the player on the north side of the court. Thanks again for the fantastic match, Luke!"  -- Ari
