Collapse AllWandsworth All Star Singles - Round 28 | Thursday 2 May 2019 to Wednesday 26 June 2019 (Midpoint: Wednesday 29 May 2019)

A fantastic round in Wandsworth full of friendly rivalries, epic matches and generous commentaries. One or two no shows brought the over all stats down to 63% of the total possible matches played (please do let us know if we can help another time) but getting 2/3 of matches played is no mean feat! Many thanks indeed for all your efforts both when you are on court playing or off court, scheduling.

Group Summary:

A fantastic round for Paul, making his debut in this league and making a clean sweep, finishing 6 wins to the good. Pavlos was the only player to take a set off him ("Really tight game, but both a bit tired towards the end," said Paul) though Nicolas and runner up Brian managed to force a tie break ("Fantastic match [with Brian], with huge twists and turns...very enjoyable despite the wind and the drizzle!" said Paul). So very well done to our new champ and great to see such strong commitment from this group with a very high percentage of matches played and lots of match commentaries. Many thanks.

Group Summary:

A clear round for group champ Graham, who won 4 matches out of four without dropping a set, so hope to find him tougher matches in group one next time, and well played! Alex just pips Floris for second place, having tied on points but won the head to head. It was busier in the top half of this group than the bottom half - proof, if proof were needed, that getting on is all about getting matches played. A shame too that Craig did not get underway. Do let us know if we can help another time.

Group Summary:

A quieter group than most and no one here got their bonus balls. But all credit to Alec for managing to schedule 4 matches and to win them all. He takes the top spot this time just one point ahead of Daniel with whom he had a topsy turvy 3 setter. As is always the case, the more you play, the better your chances of winning (and improving|) and it was a shame to see 3 players get only 1 or 2 matches each and Laura to get none! Do let us know if we can help another time!

Group Summary:

Great tennis makes for great match commentaries, and we had some lovely write ups here. Nikola said !My serve was nowhere to be seen and I estimate 1st serve on target at about 3.4839%" in his match against Don; Wonil said Catriona made him run "left and right and left again lots of times," and in his "amazing" match against Alex, "I almost gave up to beat [her] but I survived." All in all some great tennis was played! There can only be one winner however, and the honours go to Marvin for a great round round (6 wins out of 6). Wonil is the runner up.
