Player Comments:

  • "Good match, intensive in the first set where I more luck than Rob. Second set I managed to break two games and hold my own and used that momentum to secure the second set. It was Rob's second day of tennis in scorching heat and had he been anywhere near his usual performance, it would have been a very different result. Overall very enjoyable match with mixed shots and some pretty challenging rallies, looking forward to our re-match in near future. Thanks Rob!"  -- Lukasz

Player Comments:

  • "TBC. Ed to continue serve at deuce."  -- Ed
Reveal CommentAdrian Pottier bt Ben Diamond (Jul 24) 6-3, 2-6, 6-4

Player Comments:

  • "The Ben Diamond arrived, confident that he would impose his stifling game of slice and dice onto another opponent. SO confident in fact that he literally appeared to be asleep during the 1st set. Anyway, 1st Set - Ben holds for 3-2 after some early breaks, but somehow I counter slice him and then throw in an underarm serve as payback for his dropshots. 2nd set - The Diamond slice cuts me up. Bad. Ultra short, spinning returns of serve sap my spirit and I resort to hitting balls at Ben during changeover. 3rd Set-Feared the worst after suffering thru a world class exhibition of slice, but somehow found a way to win the Battle of the Bantz." -- Adrian
Reveal CommentAdrian Pottier bt Zeynep Yurday (Jul 24) 6-0, 6-0

  • "She has what it takes to keep improving and a tremendous energy that, once re-coupled with some of the basics will set her in good stead for future rounds. Keep going Zeynep, I really enjoyed our hour on court. "  -- Adrian

Player Comments:

  • "I played Ed about 6 months ago but he's come back meaner. Smarter. More determined. Sometime out of nowhere he'll unleash a furious winner. He still can't handle my slice shot though."  -- Ben
Reveal CommentAdrian Pottier bt Genoveffa Pagano (Jul 14) 6-2, 6-2

Player Comments:

  • "Thanks Gen, was kind of crazy to need to come back for a single game to finish the match off - a consequence of a stubborn 12 minute, multi-multi-multi deuce service game of mine chewing up our hour. Some lovely rallies, deft dropshots - and even a few volleys in there as well, so a great match for both of us develop our respective repertoires. Awesome to play so early in the morning with the sun in our eyes - that 8am slot is the tops. Take it easy, good luck in the forthcoming rounds. Cheers." -- Adrian
